Under the guise of summer safety, Portland Police handed out a booklet that had a list of sex crimes on the back page. The booklet was given to kindergardeners through 5th graders with words like sexual penetration, sodomy, and a warning that kids could go to prison. Indoctrination through fear.
Wrap your heads around the idea that the police have been co-opted by the progressives and start getting involved and running for local political office. You may also want to contact local legal counsel and investigate the possibility of suing the Portland Police Department.
Today’s AYFKM? Award goes to a current senator and former presidential candidate who thinks it’s a gimme to hold off on reading Miranda rights to the Times Square Bomber even though he is a naturalized American citizen. Are we now going to get around following the rule of law by “delaying” the reading of rights to this joker but we Mirandize foreign nationals at the drop of a hat? At what point do we stop bending the Constitution just a little bit to make things go our way? Are you okay with the slippery slope being laid for all criminal cases? If anything, this just proves the point that McCain truly does not have America’s back as we already know how this administration and a significant portion of congress feels about patriotic Americans that read the Constitution, own guns, and attend church.
Just a note to keep you informed that the Obama Administration through the ever benevolent TurboTax Timmie Geithner is continuing the persecution of average, everyday Americans through it’s KGB arm also known as the IRS. Pretty sad and pathetic when this type of story does not even rate an AYFKM? Award because it is so expected from the corporate oligarchy in control.
Remember: “It’s Not Your Money!“, and this link which does deserve the AYFKM? Award for total ‘trippin on shrooms’ logic “It’s Not Your Money“. Remember kids, you can always take the maximum amount of exemptions and then pay your taxes at the end of the year.
Individuals who don’t purchase health insurance may lose their tax refunds according to IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman. After acknowledging the recently passed health-care bill limits the agency’s options for enforcing the individual mandate, Shulman told reporters that the most likely way to penalize individuals that don’t comply is by reducing or confiscating their tax refunds.
Speaking at the National Press Club on Monday, Shulman downplayed the IRS’s role in enforcing the recent overhaul of the health insurance industry by claiming the agency would not aggressively target individuals who don’t purchase coverage. He noted that the health-care bill expressly forbids the agency from freezing bank accounts, seizing assets or pursuing criminal charges, but when pressed said the IRS would most likely use tax refund offsets to penalize those that don’t comply with the mandate. The IRS uses refund offsets to collect from individuals that owe the federal government a delinquent debt.
“These are not the kinds of things we send agents out about,” Shulman said. “These are things where you get a letter from us. Congress was very careful to make sure there was nothing too punitive in this bill.”
Many reports have claimed that enforcement of the individual mandate will be non-existent, but Shulman’s answers indicate differently. According to BusinessWeek, starting in 2015 Americans who don’t purchase insurance will be subject to a fine of $325 and that sum increases to $695 in 2016. However, the commissioner seemed confident that in most cases individuals would either receive subsidies to purchase insurance or simply do so on their own in order to comply with the law.
“The vast majority of American people have a healthy respect for the law and want to be compliant with their tax obligations,” Shulman said, mentioning letters, collection notices and offsets as among the various ways the IRS will reach out to people without coverage.
Does this or does this not give new meaning to the corporate concept of each and every American being owned like cattle for the express purposes of producing tax money being put forward by the Restore America Plan? After all the research I have done, I am confident the gentlemen behind the plan understand the legalities; the only question remaining is if the military is going to cross the street.
Un-Frakkin-Believable! Nancy believes that dems need to go on the offensive with their constituents during the break. What? Ramming through a number of totally unacceptable policies isn’t being on the offensive?
(As always, emphasis of incredibly stupid comments and some flat out lies is mine.)
Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants House Democrats to go on offense during the critical two-week recess that begins this weekend.
Members returning to their districts should tout the new healthcare law’s benefits to their constituents, according to the “recess packet” issued by Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) office this week and obtained by The Hill.
“With the passage of health insurance reform, this District Work Period is a critical time to go on offense,” the memo states.
Members should “convey the immediate benefits of health reform to your constituents (such as better prescription drug benefits for seniors, tax credits for small businesses and prohibiting insurance companies from canceling your policy if you get sick),” the memo said.
Pelosi’s advice to members illustrates that she and other Democratic leaders believe they can capitalize on healthcare to rally before the fall.
The message in the memo wasn’t limited to healthcare.
Lawmakers also should also “demonstrate the work of this Congress to create jobs and strengthen the economy,” and “publicize the benefits of the $800 billion in tax cuts this Congress has enacted” through last year’s $787 billion stimulus package, according to the memo. (“$800 BILLION in tax cuts…through a $787 BILLION stimulus package” – is this a typo from TheHill or more of Nancy’s red crayon math?)
Oh, but I think this is the best one yet.
They should also“tell their constituents how all this was done in a fiscally responsible, open and transparent way,”it states.
Nancy has, almost single-handedly, crippled the entire country with this 2700 page POS law that punishes success, and enslaves companies and individuals to the federal government.
Are you freakin’ kidding me? While the District of Criminals has us laser focused on the healthcare takeover and illegal alien amnesty, Ben Bernanke would like to eliminate the minimum reserve requirements because they are a profit drag. Was there or WAS THERE NOT a stress test last year to see if banks had enough reserves to fend off the commercial real estate bubble (my theory for the test)?
Just one more reason that the Federal Reserve Banking Cartel and their mafia boss, Bernanke, have got to go!
“The Federal Reserve believes it is possible that, ultimately, its operating framework will allow the elimination of minimum reserve requirements, which impose costs and distortions on the banking system,” footnote number nine, at the bottom of the page, explains without additional qualification.
9. The authority to pay interest on reserves is likely to be an important component of the future operating framework for monetary policy. For example, one approach is for the Federal Reserve to bracket its target for the federal funds rate with the discount rate above and the interest rate on excess reserves below. Under this so-called corridor system, the ability of banks to borrow at the discount rate would tend to limit upward spikes in the federal funds rate, and the ability of banks to earn interest at the excess reserves rate would tend to contain downward movements. Other approaches are also possible. Given the very high level of reserve balances currently in the banking system, the Federal Reserve has ample time to consider the best long-run framework for policy implementation. The Federal Reserve believes it is possible that, ultimately, its operating framework will allow the elimination of minimum reserve requirements, which impose costs and distortions on the banking system. (emphasis mine)
This is what happens when a stoner who has no sense of personal responsibility, and who has spent his entire life riding on the work of others gets hit by stone cold reality. This fraud, who chased the dream of making history with no inkling of what it would take, and who started his march for the Oval Office by knocking Alice Palmer off the ballot is now playing the ‘save my presidency’ card? STFU! Stop Whining! Did Michelle tell you that it would be all champagne wishes and caviar dreams? I do believe that Barry Soetoro miscalculated the type of history he would be making, and the true spirit of the majority of Americans. We don’t like fascists, whiners, or liars.
I know you are as sick of the whiner-in-chief as I am, and wish he would just cry uncle and let a grown up like Jim DeMint, Paul Ryan or Thaddeus McCotter take over. (I would list some dems but there aren’t any with half a freakin’ brain or a spine right now).
Unfortunately, we have front row seats to watch this particularly fascist presidency go down in flames, and then try to regain some kind of composure with each other and the rest of the world after Bahana Obama and Nancy Pelosi do their utmost to completely rend the Republic asunder.
President Barack Obama had exhausted most of his health care reform arguments with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus during a White House meeting last Thursday when he made a more personal pitch that resonated with many skeptics in the room.
One caucus member told POLITICO that Obama won him over by “essentially [saying] that the fate of his presidency” hinged on this week’s health reform vote in the House. The member, who requested anonymity, likened Obama’s remarks to an earlier meeting with progressives when the president said a victory was necessary to keep him “strong” for the next three years of his term.
Another caucus member, Rep. Jose Serrano (D-N.Y.), said, “We went in there already knowing his presidency would be weakened if this thing went down, but the president clearly reinforced the impression the presidency would be damaged by a loss.”
Added Serrano: “He was subtle, but that was the underlying theme of the meeting — the importance of passing this for the health of the presidency.”
White House officials said Obama’s recent remarks aren’t intended to personalize the debate or rally undecided Democratic members with an egocentric, “win one for Barry” message. They said Obama’s point is to hammer home the idea that all Democrats would benefit from a health care win and that the party’s larger policy agenda would be damaged if the president were to lose.
John Boehner sums it up pretty well…
My closing thoughts for the Usurper-in-Chief would be, “Shut the F*** Up and get to work on your resignation letter!”
On the lighter side, God has to be watching over us, or it could be a whole hell of a lot worse than it is right now.
Annabel Park (a former Obama operative during the 2008 campaign) is receiving Today’s AYFKM? Award for, well, being a complete liberal leftist who believes that the Tea Parties are hard right conservatives spewing hate who have drowned out her lefty voice.
Obama’s administration is in trouble when the hippie-dippie left has to form a “coffee party” to handle all that “hateful rhetoric” that the middle and right are spewing; for example, this photograph from 4.15.2009 Kona Tea Party. Damn those Tea Party Patriots for exploiting our differences…
April 15th, 2009 Tea Party
How long did it take the Washington Post to talk about the Tea Parties?
Furious at the tempest over the Tea Party — the scattershot citizen uprising against big government and wild spending — Annabel Park did what any American does when she feels her voice has been drowned out: She squeezed her anger into a Facebook status update.
I would like to know how Annabel’s voice has been drowned out while Barry, Nancy, Harry, Barbara, etc. are still spewing their socialist agenda and shoving Obamacare down our throats?
let’s start a coffee party . . . smoothie party. red bull party. anything but tea. geez. ooh how about cappuccino party? that would really piss ’em off bec it sounds elitist . . . let’s get together and drink cappuccino and have real political dialogue with substance and compassion.
This would mean that talking about the deficit, monetizing the debt, bank bailouts, car company bailouts, and jobs has no substance and/or no compassion for the next three generations who will be paying for these financial crimes.
Friends replied, and more friends replied. So last month, in her Silver Spring apartment, Park started a fan page called “Join the Coffee Party Movement.” Within weeks, her inbox and page wall were swamped by thousands of comments from strangers in diverse locales, such as the oil fields of west Texas and the suburbs of Chicago.
I have been searching for a place of refuge like this for a long while. . . . It is not Us against the Govt. It is democracy vs corporatocracy . . . I just can’t believe that the Tea Party speaks for all patriotic Americans. . . . Just sent suggestions to 50 friends . . . I think it’s time we start a chapter right here in Tucson . . .
The snowballing response made her the de facto coordinator of Coffee Party USA, with goals far loftier than its oopsy-daisy origin: promote civility and inclusiveness in political discourse, engage the government not as an enemy but as the collective will of the people, push leaders to enact the progressive change for which 52.9 percent of the country voted in 2008.
“…the collective will of the people…”, would that be the 63% that want this administration to START OVER ON HEALTHCARE, or …”push leaders to enact the progressive change for which 52.9 percent of the country voted in 2008.”, would that be the 20% liberal left? What about the 52% (according to CNN on 2.10.2010) that would not vote to re-elect Bambi come 2012?
The ideas aren’t exactly fresh — Tea Party chapters view themselves as civil, inclusive and fueled by collective will — but the Coffee Party is percolating in at least 30 states. Small chapters are meeting up, venting frustrations, organizing themselves, hoping to transcend one-click activism. Kind of like the Tea Party did this last year, spawning 1,200 chapters, a national conference and a march on Washington.
“It’s like trying to perform surgery in the dark,” says Park, 41, a documentary filmmaker. She’s exhausted, overcommitted, passing whole days on Facebook, not collecting a paycheck, hopping between conference calls, sending e-mails at 4 a.m., smoothing out conflicts over strategy. She has been swept up in this project, and so have others. Within two weeks of forming, the Los Angeles chapter produced a five-minute video in which citizens yearn for sensible progress and lament obstructionist truth-twisting.
Progress is patriotic, they tell the camera. Wake up. Espresso yourself. Something is brewing, America.
* * *
Need something to wash down that heaping helping of American angst? Tea or coffee? (Must we choose?)
Deep down, underneath the Tea Party’s Revolutionary War garb and the Coffee Party’s faded HOPE stickers, they seem to want the same thing. To save America. Which raises the question: “From what?”
Get ready for the Post’s theory…
The easy answer is “each other,” when really their complaints are similar and eternal: The political system is broken, elected officials ignore the people, and the media warp truths and pit sides. A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that two-thirds of Americans are “dissatisfied” or “angry” with the federal government,” the highest level in 14 years, and many have sought solace in social networking. The Coffee Party, whether it grows or fizzles, is the latest effort to turn virtual disenchantment into real-world results. Its members are incited by Tea Party tactics, which they believe obstruct reform and discourage thoughtful deliberation, and the Tea Party — well, the Tea Party has not heard of the Coffee Party.
Hmmm…”obstruct reform and discourage thoughtful deliberation,…”. I would like to put up a image I just received in answer to that statement.
And in rebuttal to the 98,763 members of the coffee party – a day late and many dollars short…
LAST SEPTEMBER 12:
9.12.2009 Tea Party March On Washington, D.C.
Stop your bitchin just because the pResident, the left controlled Congress, the unions, and Andy Stern aren’t getting the socialist job done for you. You can stop blaming us – we have no power inside the beltway.
I am no longer shocked by the shinola that comes out of Nancy’s mouth, but this does fall under the Are You Freakin’ Kidding Me? Award category. I think Nancy and Bambi are neck in neck for the amount of AYFKM? awards.
It may well be possible that she is making this statement right now because much of what has happened over the last year has been behind closed and locked doors. What does she know that we don’t? Don’t answer that; I just ate.
(CNSNews.com) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) insisted on Friday that she is running the most ethical and honest Congress in history. At the same time, however, she indicated she will not ask House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel (D.-N.Y.) to resign his chairmanship—at least for now.
Rangel was admonished this week by the ethics committee for taking corporate-funded trips to the Caribbean.
Pelosi noted that the ethics committee is looking into other issues involving Rangel, and made it clear that she was interested in seeing the outcome of these investigations soon.
The committee, for example, is looking at Rangel’s failure to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in assets that should have been listed on his congressional financial disclosure reports.
“Obviously, they have other issues to deal with,” Pelosi said at her Friday press briefing. “But I thank them for taking this action. I hope that they will have other action soon. But they did not take action against him. They just said he did not willfully break the rules. But we’ll just see what happens next, what comes out of the committee next.”
When a reporter prefaced a question about Rangel by noting that Pelosi had promised to run the “most ethical and honest Congress in history” she interrupted him to say: “And we are.”
If you really need to see the tape of Nancy running her mouth about Charlie, hit the link. Yeah, thought so.
Today’s Are You Freakin’ Kidding Me? Award goes to a british curate that told his female parishioners in a sermon to sit down, shut up, and submit to their husbands because you women are the reason for the high divorce rates (like the husband has absolutely nothing to do with whatever problems caused the divorce).
This would be one of the reasons I am no longer part of a faith that relegates a human being to slave status, and why today’s woman might be thinking twice about getting married…ever. Think about whether or not any woman really needs to get married to a man anymore. As for this curate, allow me to just take a wild guess that this guy is probably a leftist that really wants to destroy the family unit. I swear every single one of their brains is wired ass backwards. (Ladies and Gentlemen? Please let us know exactly what you think in comments about this curate and his sermon.)
Curate outrages congregation by telling women to ‘be silent and submit to your husbands’
With Valentine’s Day approaching, parishioners might have expected a more heartwarming message. Instead, they got a sermon urging women to ‘submit’ to their husbands.
The apparent lack of obedience of ‘modern women’ was blamed for the high divorce rate. In a sermon entitled ‘Marriage and women’ last Sunday, curate Mark Oden, told the congregation at St Nicholas Church in Sevenoaks, Kent: ‘We know marriage is not working.
‘We only need to look at figures – one in four children have divorced parents. Wives, submit to your own husbands.’
Under fire: Vicar Angus MacLeay (left) told his female parishioners to ‘be silent’ and ‘submit to your husbands’. Just days later his curate Mark Oden (right) blamed the behaviour of modern women for the UK’s high divorce rate
It is understood some women parishioners – and even their husbands – have vowed never to attend the church again.
Its vicar is Angus MacLeay, 50, a married father of two who is a leading member of the evangelical group Reform, which is opposed to the appointment of women clergy.
The group has produced a leaflet, called ‘The role of women in the local church’, which uses Biblical quotes to urge them to ‘remain silent’ and telling them ‘wives are to submit to their husbands in everything’.
One woman churchgoer said she was ‘disgusted’ by the sermon, adding: ‘How can they talk that way in the 21st Century?’
Another, who also did not want to be named, said: ‘We’re supposed to let our husbands talk for us and remain silent? What kind of medieval sermon is that?’
Mr Oden a married father of three, is reported to have said: ‘I am passionate about helping people to have healthy marriages. I did not set out to unnecessarily offend people, but I stand by what God has said in his word, the Bible.’
Mr MacLeay, a Scotsman who sometimes wears a kilt to church, said: ‘There are times when the Bible challenges modern society. It recognises that women are fully equal to men, but it also recognises that in certain areas of life they may have different roles.
‘Of course, in marriage, our main concern, it is the responsibility of husbands to show consideration and love for their wives.’
On its website, St Nicholas Church describes itself as a church where ‘we believe that the Bible is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith.’
Reform believes that leaders of a church should be men and say the leaflet was produced to explain this view. Sources in the group said the leaflet had been misinterpreted.
The source added: ‘People misunderstand the word “submit”. In this context it means saying how can I be most beneficial in this relationship as a helper. To submit does not make you an inferior being.’
A woman of 24 who was at the sermon said: ‘Isn’t it a vicar’s job not to tell you what everyone wants to hear and what society says, but to help explain the Bible says about issues?’
