Tea Party Protests Obama’s High Speed Rail In Florida

Some Floridians weren’t drinking the koolaid laid out by the White House in their townhall meeting about the high speed rail project.  One 22 year old decided to explain it to them….

Obama protestors line the streets

Hope to derail bullet train plan

While thousands showed up to support the president, just a couple of blocks away hundreds came together to protest his arrival. They lined up down Kennedy Boulevard hoping their voices would be heard.

The protest was part of the Tea Party movement. They were demanding less government and a different kind of healthcare reform, and hoping to derail the state’s high-speed train. Protesters believe spending billions on rail has no place in a state facing budget cuts.

“Not the high speed, we don’t need it. I mean, how many people are actually going to ride it? I mean, you can check a lot of trains that the government is running and there is no one on there,” said Marie Brown.

It was an opinion shared by many there — more protestors arrived as the day went on.

Obama supporter Thomas Nimmo decided to argue with dozens of the protesters. Little did he know, he was fighting a losing battle.

“I just think that these people don’t really understand. They listen to one source of media and they get their talking points from that and they will be against anything that they are told to be against and I think that’s really unfortunate,” said Nimmo, 22.

I am assuming Thomas is a product of our fine education system where we are behind almost everybody else in MATH and science.

Rep. Vic Snyder (D-Ark) The Next Dem To Retire; Another One Down

Wow, all of us astroturfing fringers aren’t making a difference….Hey Nancy, want to chat with the Monster?

From Politico:

Vic Snyder retiring

Rep. Vic Snyder (D-Ark.) announced tonight that he will be retiring at the end of his term, citing the difficult political environment that he would have faced to win an eighth term in the House.

“2010 will be a robust election year during which great forces collide to set the direction for our country for another two years,” Snyder said in a statement.

“I have concluded that these election-year forces are no match for the persuasive and powerful attraction of our three one-year old boys under the leadership of their three-year old brother, and I have decided not to run for re-election.”

Yep, the Tea Party Movement is just a fringe group with no power, and according to Nancy:

“Republicans are in full-blown ‘spin mode’ attacking the president and claiming he has lost support,” she wrote. “But that is just hype and hyperbole. You and I know better — together we are moving America forward.”

More on Nancy’s continued delusion that it’s astroturf in a later post.

An Open Letter To The RNC

An Open Letter To The RNC

I was honored to be asked for some thoughts about the 2010 elections.  What follows is the open letter to the RNC letting them know the shifting sands they are standing on, and why.

Please feel free to add any additional thoughts for the RNC in comments.  You know they are reading it.

An Open Letter To The RNC:

As a point of introduction, I have been an independent voter since 1980, and have a blog with a readership that includes indies, democrats, republicans, conservatives, christians, muslims, etc.  It is a very eclectic mix of people and ideas, but one issue they all agree on is that the Republican Party is likely more than 50% of the problem in our country right now.   The Republican Party has proven itself to be suspect and untrustworthy because of their actions, (or lack thereof), and their inability, (or purposeful ignorance), to see the depth of the danger a democratic administration is posing to the future of the nation.

A good number of my readership knew how devastating an Obama administration was going to be, and even though we were truly aghast at a John McCain candidacy, we voted for him to try to keep the White House and the congress balanced.  Now the Republican party knows what we knew years ago, and yet, the RP still continues to play politics with the future of this nation and will not take a stand against the nation killer called liberal democrat socialism.  Desperate times call for drastic measures and we are just not seeing that type of leadership coming from the RP, and it has lead us to believe that we are on our own.  Why else would the Tea Parties be drawing greater percentages than the republicans, and why would Doug Hoffman have made the splash he did?

Where were you on 9.12.09 when 2 million Americans showed up on the Capitol Steps to send a message about Obama and his policies?  Why does one liberal like Jane Hamsher have immediate access to the airwaves whenever they are displeased, yet 40 senators and 177 representatives could not show up on 9.12.09 to stand with 2.1 million Americans who set a new record for a gathering on the steps to help them get some media time?  Why weren’t you there, and why do you expect us to vote for you when you aren’t even present?  You continue to be a day late and a dollar short, again.

The New Year’s Resolution of myself and my readers is to do everything possible to vote out every single senator and congressman that is not protecting and preserving our nation’s founding document; The Constitution.    We will be searching for and supporting candidates that have a track record of saying what they mean and meaning what they say, who show spine and stand up for that precious document, it’s principles, and our freedoms.

If the Republicans want to win in 2010, the party better not fight the takeover by constitutionalists of all political stripes.  It is time for moderate republicans to become the democrats they so want to be, and the rest of the party to support the conservative message.  There is no longer anytime left to bandy about with Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.  They are progressive socialists that truly believe their way is better, and their endgame is in sight.  The current Republican Party seems to think a big tent is a good idea, but has forgotten that the biggest percentage of Americans are conservative.  Stop being the ghost of the party that was started to abolish slavery!

If the RP wants to wins seats, it will have to run on these messages, and then make good on those promises:

  • You will not become a prostitute by selling your vote to the highest bidder.
  • Stop Spending Money We Don’t Have and STOP FISCAL CHILD ABUSE!
  • Stop or Repeal the un-Constitutional ObamaCare.
  • Stop Cap and Trade.
  • Stop Destroying Small Businesses through policies that straightjacket them.
  • Stop Helping everyone BUT the average American.
  • Stop allowing American Sovereignty to be watered down by the UN.  One World Government is going to lead to the end of innovation and wealth creation for the majority of the world’s population.
  • Stop sending all our money overseas through insane policies like funding abortions in third world countries.
  • Stop the insane taxation that is causing American wealth to leave our shores and our economy.

When the republicans get the majority in both houses, and then the White House, you will be required to do the following:

  • BE REAL LEADERS!  Stop worrying about not getting re-elected.  Do not sell your vote, follow the Constitution, and do right by the American public and you will be re-elected.
  • Fight for REAL HEALTHCARE REFORM through a series of smaller bills that have a laser focus on the actual problems that exist in the healthcare system now.  The very first issue should be taking an American’s employer out of the equation.  Americans should be able to buy policies they own and take with them.  The indentured servitude to employers because of benefits must stop.
  • Abolish the Federal Reserve and it’s monopoly on American’s wealth through the interest on the debt you and the democrats have burdened us with.
  • Abolish the IRS and implement a flat tax or fair tax.  If you even think about adding a VAT tax on top of the current system, you will see complete revolution.
  • Abolish lobbyists in Washington, D.C.  Period.  No More Special Interest Money.  Being a senator or congressman was not supposed to be your only job.  The percentage of millionaires in the congress is so far out of proportion to the rest of the country that it is sickening.  Everybody must work.
  • Set Term Limits for the congress.  The congress has become a cesspool, and the hope of a true statesmen rising from the muck is a fantasy.
  • Implement private retirement accounts based on the Texas model that has a greater yield and get the government out of Social Security.
  • If an idea or bill does not increase Americans’ freedom and liberty, be against it!

The message for the Republican Party is a simple one; We Wanted Real Change And You Gave Us Obama!

Put forward conservative, constitutional candidates that actually have common sense and real experience in the private sector who will have the fortitude to walk back many of the socialist policies of the last 60 years and replace them with policies that empower Americans (i.e. private retirement accounts).  Support them by putting the entire Republican infrastructure at their disposal including financially and politically, and then get the hell out of the way.  We will do the rest.

Logistics Monster

Obama Postpones Capitol Meeting To Avoid Protesters?

Obama Postpones Capitol Meeting To Avoid Protesters?

HouseCallTrentFranks

Michele Bachmann and the Republicans’ “House Call” that drew thousands had the effect that I was expecting; Obama is planning on going to Walter Reed to avoid protesters on Friday, and  then twist some arms and create some tingles on Saturday, Chicago style, before the House vote that will establish 118 new government agencies to take away what is left of our freedom.

He is probably expecting the protesters to be gone by Saturday’s vote.  Now why would the Tea Party Patriots do that?

Good luck with that Mr. pResident.  If you do get this POS bill passed, 2010 is closer than you think and we WILL get it repealed.

Obama delays meeting with House Dems until Saturday

President Barack Obama will meet with House Democrats to discuss healthcare on Saturday, when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has planned a vote on the measure.

A White House aide said the trip was postponed “to be closer to the vote.”

Obama had planned to meet with the group on Friday, but the White House schedule for the day, which came out late Thursday night, noted that the meeting has been moved to Saturday.

Instead, Vice President Joe Biden will make calls to House members from his home in Wilmington, Del. “about the need to pass health insurance reform,” according to Biden’s schedule.

That appears to be another cowardly maneuver.  I have never seen such a bunch of pantywaists hiding under their beds, afraid to talk to Americans.  Remember 9.12, when Obama had to mozy on out to Minnesota for his sycophants when somewhere around 2.1 MILLION Americans wanted to talk to him, and ask him to just please listen?  Oh, but I just had a stupid moment there, he is from Hawaii, and here in Hawaii, politicians believe that if a constituent did not vote for them, then that constituent’s opinion does not matter.  See Kelly Greenwell’s comment, My constituency knows me and they know what I stand for. When they elected me they got the whole package and they gave me the authority to do what needs to be done. If you voted for me you have to accept my position. If you did not I don’t owe you an explanation.” This coming from the guy that wants the Gitmo detainees free in Hawaii.

The delay from the White House comes after thousands of protesters marched on Capitol Hill on Thursday, demanding that lawmakers defeat the bill for myriad reasons.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Thursday that Obama was not meeting with House Democrats because he was concerned about the vote count.

Remember, they mean exactly the opposite of what they say; in this case, it is ALL ABOUT concern over the House vote.

“No, his visit is a sign of trying to continue to make progress and get this done,” Gibbs said.

Obama is scheduled to leave Washington on Wednesday for an extended tour of Asia.

Instead of visiting Capitol Hill on Friday, Obama will make his first visit as president to Walter Reed Hospital to meet with wounded troops.

Are You Freakin’ Kidding Me?  Our nation is at war in two different theatres and this clown has NOT YET been to Walter Reed Hospital?  I was at Walter Reed to support the troops 2 days after I flew in for the 9.12 March, and I’m just an average citizen who does not currently know a single person in the military but I support them and show my gratitude and loyalty by being present.

My spousal unit keeps telling me that it isn’t fear on the administration’s part, it is the fact that they just do not care and could not be bothered.  Maybe he is right, and if he is, I see dark days ahead.

Dede Scozzafava Bows Out; The Tea Party Patriots Are Irrelevant!

Oh yes, that’s right; we are the angry mob, we are domestic terrorists, we are just a few nuts on the fringe and we’ll all just go away now that 9.12.09 is over.

I hope the Socialists in Power continue to believe that because then it will just make our path to power that much easier.  Unfortunately, Rahm, Valerie, David, and Mishy just are not that stupid even though Nancy and Harry are. Each and every day, more and more Americans are waking up, standing up, and speaking out.  How many more Tea Party Patriots are going to join the ranks when Doug Hoffman wins NY-23, and they realize that they can actually make a difference?  How do David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel silence that movement?

So expect another verbal assault, a full frontal pushback from Barack’s admininstration, and more voter registrations than constituents from ACORN.

Scozzafava bows out of NY-23 race

Republican Dede Scozzafava announced Saturday that she is suspending her campaign in the Nov. 3 House special election in New York, a dramatic development that increases the GOP’s chances of winning the contentious and closely-watched race.

“In recent days, polls have indicated that my chances of winning this election are not as strong as we would like them to be. The reality that I’ve come to accept is that in today’s political arena, you must be able to back up your message with money—and as I’ve been outspent on both sides, I’ve been unable to effectively address many of the charges that have been made about my record,” she said in a statement.

“It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican.”

Michael Bachmann said yesterday on Hannity that the government has taken over 30% of the private sector wealth in 2009 and now wants another 18% with healthcare.  This government, this administration CONTROLLING 48% of the private sector wealth is INDEFENSIBLE and UNACCEPTABLE.

CNN Comes In Last So…Let’s Bash Sarah In A New Poll

Since CNN finished dead last in the cable ratings, the “Best Political Team” just had to trot out the old standby, short-term, pump up their numbers agenda; let’s bash Sarah Palin with a spotty poll.  The unspoken bashing goes to the people that support her because, ya know, they are all right-wing, domestic terrorist, open mouth breathing, left in the dirt, not with the new “hope and change program”, conservatives.  That should help their ratings even more, doncha think, considering another new poll states that 40% of Americans are Conservatives.

Now for the most important part of this poll; no information about the percentage of Dems vs. Repubs vs. Indies in the 1,038 Americans polled OR the questions asked and how they were posed.  We stopped trusting CNN back during the entire 2008 presidential election cycle, (i.e. dead last ratings), and we are not about to start trusting CNN again while such shoddy work continues.

CNN Poll: 7 in 10 say Palin not qualified to be president

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll was conducted October 16-18, with 1,038 adult Americans questioned by telephone. The survey’s sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points for all respondents and plus or minus 4.5 percentage points for questions asked only of Republicans.

Poll: 71% Believe Sarah Palin Not Qualified To Be President

CNN? There is a reason you are dead last with political news coverage like this.

A Special Thank You To Monster Readers And The 912ers

I just saw this over at TPM Live Wire where the liberal moonbats are bashing away at the Tea Party Marchers on 9.12.09.  I just thought I would share the actual House Resolution put forward by Tom Price and 75 House republicans thanking us for showing up and being present. And for those that are still wondering, the Capitol Police estimated 2.1 million after the fact.

I never believed that the Tea Party Patriots were about forming a third party. This movement is about making the two parties we have bring forward legislation in keeping with the founding principles of this nation, and candidates that are willing to serve and not gorge themselves at the trough.

Once again to all my loyal readers, many mahalos for making that trip possible, and give yourselves a moment to pat yourself on the back and smile about 9.12.09 and NY-23.

RESOLUTION

Expressing gratitude and appreciation to the individuals and families who participated in the Taxpayer March on Washington on September 12, 2009.

Whereas, on September 12, 2009, hundreds of thousands of American patriots, who refuse to sit idly by as the Federal Government advances skyrocketing deficits, taxpayer-funded bailouts, pork-barrel projects, burdensome taxes, unaccountable policy czars, command-and-control energy policy, and a government takeover of health care, came to Washington, DC, to show their disapproval;

Whereas individuals also wanted to convey their displeasure with the future tax increases that will be required to pay for deficit-financed spending;

Whereas these individuals understand that the fundamental American principles of limited government and personal liberty are under direct assault;

Whereas this dedicated group of freedom-loving Americans believe in open, accountable, responsible, constitutionally based government;

Whereas hundreds of buses, multiple caravans of cars from across the country, and many individually chartered flights, as well as thousands of lone-traveling cars and trucks, brought these patriots to Washington, DC, solely for this event;

Whereas these individuals endured considerable personal expense to get to the march, including transportation and lodging expenses, as well as lost wages in many instances;

Whereas estimates of the number of people who peacefully marched from Freedom Plaza to the West Front of the U.S. Capitol on September 12, 2009, range as high as 1,700,000 marchers;

Whereas all 50 States were represented in the march;

Whereas this event is considered to be the largest ever gathering of fiscal conservatives in Washington, DC;

Whereas special accolades are due to the grassroots citizens organizations across the country who helped individuals exercise their constitutionally protected First Amendment rights in the Nation’s capital; and

Whereas when the current trends of government expansion and freedom retrenchment are reversed, it will be due in large part to the efforts of the hundreds of thousands who marched on Washington, DC, on September 12, 2009: Now, therefore, be it

    Resolved, That the House of Representatives expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the hundreds of thousands of people who marched on Washington, DC, on September 12, 2009, to show their love of liberty and their grievance with recent government actions.

Get Ready For The Health Choices Commissioner

This administration’s version of the healthcare reform absolutely, positively, must be decimated because even more power will flow to the Executive Branch of our government and they are already so far over the line that I personally cannot believe people have not been dragged out in handcuffs already.  The middle and right of this country have some d*** fine manners and political correctness.

I also cannot keep up with the crap coming out of this administration so commentary will be at a minimum.  I will say this though; this administration is currently retreating so fast to find a hold point, that the 9.12 March on Washington, D.C. will cement the momentum we have achieved so far.  Make sure that if you cannot attend the Mother of all Tea Parties, you get your behinds off the couch and go to one in your town or city!

Make sure to go over to CNS and read the whole article.

Health Care Bill Gives Obama Power to Appoint Government ‘Commissioner’ With Sweeping Power to Dictate Health Coverage

(CNSNews.com) – The health care bill under consideration in the House of Representatives would give President Obama the authority to name a new federal “Health Choices Commissioner” who would have sweeping power to govern the health insurance plans offered in a so-called “exchange” where millions of Americans would get their health insurance if the bill is enacted.

These powers would include deciding which treatments are covered, which companies can participate, which states can run their own exchange, and enrolling individuals into the public exchange.

Though the bill, House Resolution 3200, faces many political hurdles, it has passed three House committees and could be ready for a floor vote after Congress returns from recess. The overhaul package calls for establishing a health insurance exchange where people earning up to 400 percent of the poverty level will be able to purchase health insurance with the help of federal subsidies. This exchange would include a “public option” government-run health care plan as well as private plans that provide a minimum benefits package dictated by the government.

The Health Choices Commissioner would establish “the benefits to be made available under Exchange-participating health benefit plans during each plan year,” according to page 84 of the 1,018-page bill. That means the commissioner would determine what benefits the participating insurance companies must offer participating customers in the exchange.

The commissioner would also set rules for insurance companies to participate in the health insurance exchange, and establish criteria for individuals to receive federal subsidies to purchase insurance in the exchange, according to section 142 on page 42 of the legislation.

Further, the commissioner would have the authority to establish “automatic enrollment” of individuals who qualify for the health insurance exchange.

“The Commissioner shall provide a process under which individuals who are Exchange-eligible individuals described in subparagraph (B) are automatically enrolled under an appropriate Exchange participating health benefits plan,” the legislation says, beginning on page 97. “Such process may involve a random assignment or some other form of assignment that takes into account the health care providers used by the individual involved or such other relevant factors as the Commissioner may specify.”

The exchange eligible individuals [determined by subparagraph (B)] include someone who “has not opted out from receiving such affordability credit,” someone who “does not otherwise enroll in another exchange participating health benefits plan,” and someone “enrolled in an Exchange-participating plan that is terminated (during or at the end of the plan year) and who does not otherwise enroll in another Exchange participating health benefits plan.”
