Shep Smith of FoxNews has just announced that during a briefing, Steny Hoyer stated that members of congress who voted for Obamacare are receiving death threats. The twitterworld is abuzz, and I am looking for video/audio of this breaking news.
Two items:
What did congressmen expect?
Don’t worry about the ones that actually write in.
After Tea Party activists posted the supposed address of Rep. Tom Perriello’s (D-VA) home, a gas line was cut at his brother’s property. The activists posted the wrong address in Virginia on the internet.
The FBI and local authorities are investigating the incident. Threats and acts of violence have escalated after President Barack Obama signed the Health Care Reform bill into law. Some Tea Party Activists have been calling for acts of violence against members of Congress and the Democratic headquarters throughout the states.
In a phone interview Jessica Barba, spokesperson for Perriello said the Capitol Police have been informed of the incident.
“We have had no direct threats,” said Barba. “Tom is in Washington at this time and he has been informed of the situation. We will have an official statement later.”
Ladies and Gentlemen: START RECALL DRIVES IN YOUR STATES TO GET THEM OUT OF OFFICE BEFORE NOVEMBER.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer believes that the senate health care bill is better than nothing, and even if Scott Brown takes Dead Kennedy’s seat away from the democrats, the progressives will be able to pass a bill before he is certified.
What part of ‘We Do Not Want Government Healthcare’ are they not understanding? What part of “We Want Healthcare Reform; Start Over!” are they not getting? Rest assured America, they hear us and are totally ignoring our voices.
The progressives want to put America on a very tight leash by controlling every aspect of our behavior through health care, and they wonder why Scott Brown is kicking Martha Coakley’s tush? Steny Hoyer’s comments are symptomatic of the dems’ thought processes.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) on Tuesday said passing the Senate healthcare bill would be “clearly better than nothing.”
This statement only makes sense when one looks at the true motivations of the Progressive Socialist Democratic Party. It has never been about health care; it’s always been about telling us what is good for us because we are just open-mouthed breathing idiots. America, are you offended and insulted by what the Progressives (both dem and pub) have been doing? They are not going to stop because they, ‘as our parents’, know better than we do.
Hoyer dodged questions about how Democrats would go forward without a 60th vote in the Senate, saying he did not want to “anticipate or speculate or hypothesize” on the outcome of the Massachusetts race. But he admitted that rushing a finished product through both chambers before Brown could be sworn in was a possibility. (emphasis mine)
Asked if it was “feasible” to pass a healthcare bill in next 15 days, prior to the Massachusetts election certification, Hoyer said, “Yes.”
If Coakley pulls this out, I cannot wait to see how many dead people voted for Martha, and whether or not the Black Panthers were outside polling centers with nightsticks ‘ala Pennsylvania, November 2008.
The Dems are not going to stop to even think about what their actions are doing to the country, and I for one, am thankful that they are so rabidly turning a blind eye to the opposition. The race to flip the country to a European Socialist State is going to reverberate for decades, and the Democratic Party may not survive their assault on Americans and the Constitution.
Florida Congressman Alan Grayson telling YOU how it’s going to be:
I have spent the last 2 1/2 days getting ready for a hurricane tropical storm that can’t seem to decide how big and what path it is actually going to take. I have also not been writing because I have been watching, and background processing, and the only question that keeps coming up over and over again is, “What IS the agenda of the democrats and this WH?” Nobody could possibly be so stupid as to attack the American public unless they want to achieve an outcome they already know is coming. Something about all of this reeks of “timing”. I still say that we do not need to do healthcare reform RIGHT THIS MINUTE!
By now almost anybody paying attention to the news today has heard about Nancy and Steny going off the deep end calling dissenters “un-American”.
Please keep the definition of fascism in mind as you peruse.
Fascism a. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. b. A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government. 2. Oppressive, dictatorial control.
Americans have been waiting for nearly a century for quality, affordable health care.
Health coverage for all was on the national agenda as early as 1912, thanks to Teddy Roosevelt’s Bull Moose presidential run. Months after World War II came to an end in 1945, President Harry Truman called on Congress to guarantee all Americans the “right to adequate medical care and protection from the economic fears of sickness.” From President Lyndon Johnson to President Bill Clinton, to President Obama’s winning campaign on the promise of reform, there hasn’t been a more debated domestic issue than the promise of affordable health care for all.
(Steny Hoyer)
Obviously Steny has never read the chapter in this book about Teddy Roosevelt; on second thought, maybe he has:
Now, it’s Nancy’s turn to ratchet up the rhetoric and drive the ponies toward the cliff; but listen closely and you will see what she is afraid of, and what they are intending. This is ONLY my humble thought processes; make sure to report me to snitch.gov.
We believe it is healthy for such a historic effort to be subject to so much scrutiny and debate. The failure of past attempts is a reminder that health insurance reform is a defining moment in our nation’s history — it is well worth the time it takes to get it right. We are confident that we will get this right.
Translation: We will get a public option that will lead to single payer health care which will put every single American on the road to complete socialism. Of course we are going to take the time to get it right; we are so close to flipping this country from capitalism to socialism that we will do what it takes to make it happen.
Already, three House committees have passed this critical legislation and over August, the two of us will work closely with those three committees to produce one strong piece of legislation that the House will approve in September.
We are going to get socialist medicine no matter what it takes.
In the meantime, as members of Congress spend time at home during August, they are talking with their constituents about reform. The dialogue between elected representatives and constituents is at the heart of our democracy and plays an integral role in assuring that the legislation we write reflects the genuine needs and concerns of the people we represent.
Nancy is living in an alternate reality if she can write that and then write this:
However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. These tactics have included hanging in effigy one Democratic member of Congress in Maryland and protesters holding a sign displaying a tombstone with the name of another congressman in Texas, where protesters also shouted “Just say no!” drowning out those who wanted to hold a substantive discussion.
Let the facts be heard
These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.
The facts?
Now — with Americans strongly supporting health insurance reform, with Congress reaching consensus on a plan, and with a president who ran and won on this specific promise of change — America is closer than ever to this century-deferred goal.
This fall, at long last, we must reach it.
Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is speaker of the House
It appears Nancy is trying to herd the dissenters into one little group off in the snowbank while she “links” Americans supporting health insurance reform with Congress reaching a consensus, which unfortunately for her is the farthest scenerio from the truth.
Over the past few months, Rasmussen Reports has conducted many surveys on the topic of health care reform. As July comes to an end and Congress prepares to take a break from Washington, the following reports highlight public attitudes on a variety of health care topics.
What is the agenda that the dems are all about right now? What? Class War? Martial Law? Learned helplessness? Demoralization? Complete destruction of the middle class?
I am still looking and learning more about the foundations that are in the background. I will find the answer, as I know it is staring me in the face, and maybe I am just suffering from disbelief…
July 7 (Bloomberg) — The U.S. should consider drafting a second stimulus package focusing on infrastructure projects because the $787 billion approved in February was “a bit too small,” said Laura Tyson, an outside adviser to President Barack Obama.
The current plan “will have a positive effect, but the real economy is a sicker patient,” Tyson said in a speech in Singapore today. The package will have a more pronounced impact in the third and fourth quarters, she added, stressing that she was speaking for herself and not the administration.
Tyson’s comments contrast with remarks made two days ago by Vice President Joe Biden and fellow Obama adviser Austan Goolsbee, who said it was premature to discuss crafting another stimulus because the current measures have yet to fully take effect. The government is facing criticism that the first package was rolled out too slowly and failed to stop unemployment from soaring to the highest in almost 26 years.
Who is Laura D’Andrea Tyson? I know Monster readers want to know.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. leaders should be open to the possibility of a second stimulus package to jolt the economy out of a recession still causing job losses, House of Representatives Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said on Tuesday.
