Yesterday, Senator John McCain advised the president to issue a strongly worded statement condemning any violent action against the protestors and finally today Bambi issued this statement:

The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people. The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights.

As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.

Martin Luther King once said – “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples’ belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.

The Mullahs are cowards to be dropping boiling water and chemicals from helicopters on their own citizens.

Are the Oathkeepers paying attention?

I keep hearing that Americans are being put to shame by these Iranian students who are now fighting in earnest for their freedom, while we sit back and let this administration and government crap all over our Constitution and us.

Do you think that the campaign to disarm America is going to be ratcheted up after these protests in Iran?

********

I believe that we are going to be seeing a completely different Iran in a week or so.  These Iranians have the spirit of our Founding Fathers flowing through them.  They understand what Jefferson, Adams, Franklin and the rest knew – that once a person crosses this bridge defying a tyrant for one’s freedom, there is no coming back.  There is no return until the fight is over.

For all of those Americans out there that are wondering why Americans have not marched on Washington DC yet; we are not close enough to the bridge yet, but it is coming if this government continues to ignore our wishes…
