Homeland Security To Establish Mirror Database With Privacy Exception

Homeland Security To Establish Mirror Database With Privacy Exception

If I hear one more ‘conservative’ talking head state that Bush 43 kept us safe after 9.11, or that 19 hijackers took down the twin towers all by themselves, I think I will absolutely lose my mind from the lowing of the moos in the field.

No 9.11; no Patriot Act with accompanying anthrax scare; no Department of Homeland Security to create a mirror database of personal information and then take an exemption from the 1974 Privacy Act.  Who needs a national ID card when DHS has the mirror database, The Fed has all your financial records, and Obamacare has everything else including your bank account information to draw funds electronically for medical care?

Now, given that DHS hasn’t secured the border, people who read the Constitution have been labeled as possible domestic terrorists, and the FBI considers the ‘sovereign’ movement to be domestic terrorists, do we watchdogs of the republic still look insane or are you feeling us yet?

Hillary Clinton: Tax The Rich More (UPDATED: Reason.TV Video Response)

UPDATE:
Reason.TV has a response for Hillary Clinton.

Many moderate voters, myself included, did not realize that Hillary Clinton was a stealth progressive until a few months before the presidential election. At least now, unless you still have the democrat kool-aid IV in, most know an Alinsky acolyte when they see one.

(It always amazes me that the progressives will make statements to like minded individuals that are so clearly in direct conflict with the Constitution even though they know cameras are rolling.  Remember Barry speaking to fellow socialists in San Fran about energy costs necessarily rising?)

Clinton: ‘The rich are not paying their fair share’

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a rare foray into domestic politics today, offering her view that — given America’s high unemployment — wealthy Americans don’t pay enough taxes.

“The rich are not paying their fair share in any nation that is facing the kind of employment issues [America currently does] — whether it’s individual, corporate or whatever [form of] taxation forms,” Clinton told an audience at the Brookings Institution, where she was discussing the Administration’s new National Security Strategy.

Clinton said the comment was her personal opinion alone. “I’m not speaking for the administration, so I’ll preface that with a very clear caveat,” she said.

Clinton went on to cite Brazil as a model.

“Brazil has the highest tax-to-GDP rate in the Western Hemisphere and guess what — they’re growing like crazy,” Clinton said. “And the rich are getting richer, but they’re pulling people out of poverty.”

I have a sneaking suspicion that there is more to the equation than high taxes equals wealth.  Personally, I sticking with the Laffer Curve, and the Constitution that states that the government is not allowed to tax labor.

For those that still don’t know about Hillary Clinton, go here.

Glenn Beck, 4.28.10; Puerto Rico and H.R. 2499 (VIDEO)

Glenn Beck, 4.28.10; Puerto Rico and H.R. 2499 (VIDEO)

Glenn covers H.R. 2499, which he reports is to be voted on tomorrow.  I have looked at both the Senate and House schedules and it is not listed on either.    At this point, I can’t trust the congress as far as I can look at them, so they may have already sent it to be signed by the pResident by deeming it; who knows.

Anywhoooo – Glenn explains the problems with H.R. 2499 and how it opens the door to Puerto Rico becoming the 51st state even though they have voted against statehood on three different occasions.  He explains how the progressives are using the ‘Tennessee Plan’ of forcing the issue of statehood to achieve statehood for the four million voters who now reside in this American territory.  Glenn backs this plan up with facts from the very political party in Puerto Rico pushing this bill; The New Progressive Party.  This party’s platform goals are to achieve statehood and ‘social justice’.

Healthcare: Closed Meetings And The Link To Immigration

Healthcare: Closed Meetings And The Link To Immigration

Recently I posted an article stating that the conference between the House and the Senate over healthcare would likely happen behind closed doors between the respective leaderships instead of appointing members to a public conference.  I was only wrong about one thing; the West Wing is going to be there too.

From The Washington Times:

Dems look to skip formality on health bills

Democratic leaders are looking to forgo a formal, public conference to merge the House and Senate’s health care overhaul bills, giving Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House free rein to hammer out the final measure behind closed doors and thwart Republican efforts to stymie it.

The maneuver gives Democratic leaders the ability to quickly work through hundreds of differences between the 2,000-page bills and to keep control over the deals they will need to make on politically touchy topics such as abortion, taxes and Medicare cuts.

“A true conference could take longer than it seems leaders in the Senate want to spend on this,” said a Senate Democratic aide.

Democratic aides say the final decision hasn’t been made, but the party’s congressional leaders will talk with the president this week. Democrats are pursuing a final vote in both chambers on the president’s top agenda item in time for his first State of the Union address later this month.

Now this is where the Democrats ‘eating their young’ is added to the mix, and remember, this traitorous congress is going to pass this POS, the Pretender is going to sign it, and then we are going to have to walk it back later this year.  Mark my words.

Democrats Considering Health Care-Immigration Deal To Overcome Key Sticking Point

Lawmakers who want to extend health coverage to illegal immigrants will not block the passage of the final health care reform bill so long as the White House offers a substantive promise to start pushing comprehensive immigration legislation this year. (emphasis mine)

Democrats who want a comprehensive bill that reforms immigration law but also offers a pathway to citizenship have threatened to vote against health care if illegals aren’t included in the new system, making immigration one of the sticking points as Democratic leaders negotiate the final details.

Democratic leadership aides believe that a firm White House promise of a comprehensive immigration bill will be enough to quell any House dissent.

TPMDC sources have been telling us that members won’t admit it publicly but they are ready to concede on immigration in the health care bill. Political aides in the White House have told key parties in Congress that President Obama wants to see a bill this year, and negotiations are under way for how it would be written.

Go here to understand how the Dems can just merrily continue to piss on the majority of the country without a care in the world.
