Glenn’s guest is David Barton of WallBuilders.com who has done the research on the Founding Fathers’ faiths and points out that these men were outspoken Christians. Mr. Barton has the largest collection of original letters and documents from the founding fathers (prior to 1812), and is able to detail the left’s revisionist history meant to change how we think and feel about the founding of our country and the men behind it. David also explains the division of church and state is only applicable to the federal government; nine of the thirteen original states had state religions.
A bit from David’s About Page:
WallBuilders is an organization dedicated to presenting America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on the moral, religious, and constitutional foundation on which America was built – a foundation which, in recent years, has been seriously attacked and undermined. In accord with what was so accurately stated by George Washington, we believe that “the propitious [favorable] smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation which disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained.”
Why The Name “Wallbuilders”? In the Old Testament book of Nehemiah, the nation of Israel rallied together in a grassroots movement to help rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and thus restore stability, safety, and a promising future to that great city. We have chosen this historical concept of “rebuilding the walls” to represent allegorically the call for citizen involvement in rebuilding our nation’s foundations. As Psalm 11:3 reminds us, “If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?”
Our Goal: WallBuilders’ goal is to exert a direct and positive influence in government, education, and the family by (1) educating the nation concerning the Godly foundation of our country; (2) providing information to federal, state, and local officials as they develop public policies which reflect Biblical values; and (3) encouraging Christians to be involved in the civic arena. Educating the Nation
In the first part of this goal, we develop materials to educate the public concerning the periods in our country’s history when its laws and policies were firmly rooted in Biblical principles. As George Washington indicated in his famous “Farewell Address,” previous generations believed such elements were inseparable from America:
Of all the habits and dispositions which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.
For over three centuries, historians presented American history from a broad perspective, but in the 1960s historical writers widely embraced what today is called the “economic view of American history” whereby economic causes are the primary and almost singular emphasis of study. Consequently, students study only “taxation without representation” when they examine the Declaration of Independence rather than important civil, governmental, and moral principles addressed in that document.
WallBuilders returns to the historical approach long utilized by the nation’s pre-eminent historians. As Charles Coffin (a best-selling author of school history texts in the nineteenth century) reminded teachers in his text, The Story of Liberty:
You will notice that while the oppressors have carried out their plans and had things their own way, there were other forces silently at work which in time undermined their plans – as if a Divine hand were directing the counter-plan. Whoever peruses the story of liberty without recognizing this feature will fail of fully comprehending the meaning of history. There must be a meaning to history or else existence is an incomprehensible enigma.
This broad and thus much more inclusive approach to American history characterized the work of influential historians and educators from George Bancroft (“The Father of American History”) to Noah Webster (“The Schoolmaster to America”) to Emma Willard (“The Pioneer of Women’s Education in America”), John Fiske, and countless others. In fact, to exclude non-economic events and motivations is to present a biased view of history. As explained by U. S. Department of Education history researcher Dr. Paul Vitz:
Bias is primarily accomplished by exclusion. . . . Such a bias is much harder to observe than a positive vilification or direct criticism, but it is the essence of censorship.
WallBuilders presents an uncensored view of American history, thus not only giving meaning to history but also keeping it from becoming what Charles Coffin termed “an incomprehensible enigma.”
Visionary – John Adams was one; you are too. You are very critical and you are a perfectionist. Where you find faults, however, you have good suggestions on how to fix them or make them better. You are extremely intelligent, and an excellent judge of character and situation. Your causes are often altruistic, and you have a clear vision of what the future will be like. However, people have the annoying habit of not believing you, even though you always seem to be right. You also seem to never get the credit you deserve. People often find you to be ‘obnoxious and disliked.’ Never fear! Your ideas will come to fruition, and one day you shall be remembered beautifully for your efforts. Just keep at it!
I am all good with this until Mike Church gets to Reagan; he was as much a part of this problem as the traitors in DC right now. I am currently trying to ascertain how long it has been since we had a president that wasn’t chosen by power players in the background; Jackson, Lincoln?
The Republicans just voted with the Democrats to pass the Pay for Performance Bill, the next G20 is going to be held in NEW YORK in SEPTEMBER (See Pilgrim Society), and the House is going to pass the “let’s sink the American Economy” $3.8 Trillion Budget, “rock around our descendent’s necks”, tonight.
Active, The American Constitution and Capitalism Defense Front, is a permanent and enduring organization of American citizens dedicated to maintaining the foundational principles of the United States of America, as initiated by its Declaration of Independence and realized by its Constitution and economic system of free-market capitalism.
These founding documents and this economic system define the United States, and as such, there is no United States without them.
The changing tides of time allow for the development of threats capable of abolishing both, either through overt attack or the processes of slow erosion and unconstitutional change. The principles of free-market capitalism are eternal, and the only legitimate process to change the United States Constitution is that which is prescribed within it.
As such, it is a moral imperative for each and every loyal American to dedicate a sufficient amount of their blood, sweat, and tears to the preservation and defense of both the Constitution and free-market capitalism.
United we stand, divided we fall. Upon this eternal truth we hereby declare that it is incumbent upon the people of this great land to come together in broad union to demand that the freedoms granted to us by God, protected by our Constitution, and given wings by our self-chosen labors, are left intact.
We are the people by which the government is of and for. We are the grantors of the power that the government wields. We are the people who can recall that power from the government at any time of our choosing. We are the citizens of the United States of America. We are the defenders of the greatest nation in the history of man, and we are hereby responding to the call to become ACTIVE.
The very same people enslaving our forefathers are now enslaving us. A few thousand “noblemen” from the American Aristocracy and the English Aristocracy and we are blindly PAYING THEM TO DO IT! Time to SUSPEND YOUR DISBELIEF. There is no conspiracy, there just is what there is. WE ARE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS of the Congress! The day is rapidly approaching when we will become a force that has nothing left to lose. Contact your Tax Day Tea Party coordinators and start talking about Washington DC. What good is a Tax Day Tea Party if you continue to pay Congress with your tax dollars?
Over the course of the 2008 Election cycle I have become aware that a great many Americans misunderstand, or misinterpret the Constitution of the United States, specifically the Bill of Rights. People tend to see the first ten amendments as consisting of rights granted to us by the Constitution. This is essentially what we are taught in public school from a young age. I myself labored under this misguided notion for many years until I realized that this is wholly and totally false. The Bill of Rights does not guarantee us any rights whatsoever. It defines the rights that the government cannot attempt to abrogate, and grants us any and all powers not given to the federal government, or the states.
The Declaration of Independence states that we are “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” The Bill of Rights elucidates more of you’re unalienable rights, and makes it plain the government may not infringe upon them.
This is a vital distinction of the utmost importance. It is failure of Americans to understand this that allows the government to impinge upon that which is yours. As I have mentioned numerous times, all three branches of government are in violation of the Constitution.
Your right to peacefully assemble, to worship the religion of your choice, to free speech, to petition the government for a redress of grievances, to habeas corpus, to be free from warrantless invasions of your privacy, to not have soldiers quartered in your home, to possess and bear arms…these are your inherent rights. Governments do not have the power to grant these rights, or take them from you. You are born with them. They are your birthright, and it is your obligation as an American citizen to stand up and oppose any body that attempts to infringe upon your rights.
You have the unalienable right as a human being, not simply as an American, to peaceably assemble. The Constitution clearly states that this right cannot be abridged. Exercise that right. We have the indefeasible right to speak freely. No longer refer to our elected officials as Senator this or Congressman that or Representative the other. These men and women are criminals. They are in violation of the Constitution of the United States. We are not obligated to observe or abide by any law that this Congress issues, or this President signs. Any one of them that fails to stand up to the Executive is a criminal; period.
Now is not the time for fear. Now is the time for courage. Before the delegates of the Continental Congress voted for independency they sent a peace offering to the king of England, a petition for a redress of grievances, and an attempt at reconciliation that became known as the Olive Branch Petition. The king never set eyes on it. He declared the colonies to be in a state of rebellion, and that the leaders of the revolt, and anyone else participating in it could either swear fealty to the Crown, or be executed as a traitor. These same delegates signed the Declaration of Independence; it was their death warrant. Had the revolution failed, all the names that have become icons of history: Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Hancock, on and on…would have hung by the neck until dead. They staked their very lives upon the independency of this nation, to the good, and ill that it has committed over the last two centuries, so that there might be one place where the rule of law existed to one cause and purpose: defending human liberty.
Look within yourselves and draw on whatever strength you possess, whatever well of inspiration is within you. Your life, your children, their future posterity, their thriving or subjugation is entirely in your hands. Gather in your homes. Talk to your families. Talk to your neighbors. Whatever they might have thought of the man in the White House before, there is more than enough evidence to show that he is a liar and that he, and the people behind him, and the Congress that marches along without question, mean to do us and this republic irreparable harm. The time to dose your friends with the kool-aid antidote is now.
Time is short my friends. Gather. Speak out. Do not stop. Do not be silent. Now is the time for courage. Now is the time, regardless of where we came from, or how light or heavy our purse, to stand up and say, “No more!”
Phone calls are not enough. Letters are not enough. Your elected officials have offices in your state. Go there. Take your children. Put faces to the one thing they need almost as much as their money and power: your vote. You are a human being. Go to their offices. Show your faces. Make them see you. Email them photos of your families. If you can make the journey, go to Washington to see them. Go to their offices. Make their staff see you. Tell them you are not just a vote. You have needs, desires, dreams. They are not your masters unless you allow it to be so. Make it clear to them that if they do not oppose the man in the White House then their services are no longer required. Put them on notice that they do not rule by your consent. Fire the lot of them. They are nothing but criminals.
You are endowed with the unalienable right to live free from the rule of oligarchs and criminals. You have the indefeasible right to alter or abolish any government that does not effect your Safety and Happiness. Do not be afraid. They are flesh and blood, not gods. If they detain one of us, another takes their place. If they silence one, another will speak. And as the Mahatma said, if they kill us they will have our dead bodies, not our allegiance. If we come in non-violence and they arrest us; we win. If we come in peace and they kill us; we win. The only way we lose is by doing nothing.
Doing nothing is no longer an option. This is not simply a struggle to preserve our republic. This is a fight for human rights; your human rights. No government is endowed with the power to violate them, regardless of the words of dictators, or the policies of oligarchs. This is not about Republicans or Democrats, conservatives or liberals. Human rights knows no party, knows no ideology save one: Freedom.
We are human. It is our natural state to live free. We live free, or we die.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by the whole “money” issue? Have you decided that it is just too complicated to try to figure out? Has no one ever said the main reason for the revolutionary war that created America was to keep the Bank of England from owning everything we create? Well here is your chance to understand fiat banker money, and it may explain why you get those butterflies in your midsection every time you think about loans, banks, interest… yada, yada, yada. Are you one of those people, like myself, that has always HATED banks? Welcome to the “Central Bank System 4 Dummies”. This is a series of 5 videos that explains in the simplest terms why The Federal Reserve and the Central Banking System are so incredibly detrimental to every single person on the planet. Please take the time to watch all of them and pay particular attention to Parts 4 and 5. While you are watching these videos, ask yourself the question, “Why would Halliburton and their subsidiary, KBR be on this site reading The Fed Page last night?” I will continue to hammer this issue until everybody wakes up and works to abolish The Federal Reserve System.
(Author’s Note: Bloggers; I suggest you spread the following information about the protests because the MSM, as usual, is not covering it.)
Are you willing to protect the Constitution against all enemies, Foreign and Domestic? Have you forgotten what it means to be SO BLESSED as to be born an American Citizen? DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT THE COST OF FREEDOM WAS? Has Obama broken down your spirit so intensely with his cowardly rhetoric about the economy in it’s death throes that you are now ready to insert the Koolaid I.V. and be “reborn” in the Obamanation of a country on it’s way to fascist dictatorship?
We have been hearing from the Obamanation for what seems like eons and true American Patriots have finally said “enough” to the economic doomsday rhetoric, the bowing and scraping of the sycophants, and the “we won” philosophy of the Democrats in Congress which has just disenfranchised most of the population, created indentured servants of numerous generations to come, and quite possibly brought the world economies to their knees.
The MILLIONS of Americans that DID NOT VOTE for The Messiah and the MILLIONS that are changing their minds who do not believe his lies, or the lies of the pack of hyenas that he has surrounded himself with are now STANDING UP, SPEAKING UP, and ACTING UP!
Bambi; you were not listening and now you shall see what it means to be a true American. Once again, you and the Corruptocrats have over-reached! Americans are NOT SOCIALISTS. Americans are NOT FASCISTS. AMERICANS are a breed apart. AMERICAN BRAVERY has saved how many countries from fascism, dictators, and invaders? England, France, Poland, Germany, Romania, Yugoslavia, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Albania, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Slovakia, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq; I’m sure the list goes on.
Americans do not believe in punishing the creativity that has sustained this country and helped it THRIVE for over 200 years. Americans believe in being rewarded for hard work, integrity, innovation, and intelligence. AMERICA IS THE GREAT EXPERIMENT and it has succeeded beyond anyone’s imagination because of American Citizens, and IN SPITE OF THE GOVERNMENT. That SUCCESS is why the rest of the world fears and hates us. The souls of every true American Patriot hear the Founding Father’s voices whispering “We The People” and “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”. The Corporations and Banks have so tried to anesthetize and control the American population that what follows must be a bit of a surprise to the Corruptocrats, their Special Interest Minions, and The Federal Reserve. From this red-blooded American to any that want to socialize this country, move to Sweden post haste and do not let Old Glory snap you in the a** on the way out.
Monster readers know what I think about The Fed. Is it any wonder that I believe that confirming the president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, Timothy Geithner, to be the Treasury Secretary will be just one more reason to FIRE CONGRESS?
I was watching C-SPAN this morning and listening to Geithner say that “he should have asked more questions” when he was being audited by the IRS. We are talking about 4 years of unpaid taxes and an IRS audit, and yet, he did not ask every single question that comes to mind; or was it that the questions that occur to you and I just did not occur to him? It really does not matter at this point, Geithner has proven that he is either completely untrustworthy or he is rather stupid; both qualities that NOBODY in OUR government, (remember “We The People”), should be espousing. Think about this question as you read the following excerpts. “Knowing what I know now, and as a Senator of the United States, would I confirm Geithner?”
As president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, Timothy Geithner often preached that gargantuan financial firms like Citigroup should be held to the highest regulatory standards to make sure they couldn’t take on too much risk.
But when it came to supervising Citigroup in recent years, the record shows that the New York Fed eased the reins as the company blew billions on subprime mortgages and other risky deals that ultimately forced the biggest bank rescue in U.S. history.
Now, the 47-year-old Geithner heads to the Senate in coming days as President-elect Barack Obama’s nominee for Treasury secretary. He’s won accolades for his expertise and work ethic, but there’s been little attention to his record as a Fed watchdog.
Geithner’s tenure at the New York Fed – which bore the major responsibility for supervising Citigroup – covers a tumultuous span in which the sprawling conglomerate spiraled from the country’s biggest banking company to one of its largest welfare cases.
Now under much closer government supervision – after a $52 billion rescue – Citigroup appears headed for dismantling amid a leadership shuffle that included last week’s announced departure of former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin as senior counselor and director.
Should the New York Fed have seen trouble coming and prevented it? As Citigroup took on risk and its capital deteriorated, what oversight did Geithner exercise? And what contacts, if any, did Geithner have about regulatory matters with Citigroup officials, including Rubin, under whom Geithner worked at Treasury in the 1990s?
Barack Obama is failing his first hard choice as president by pushing hard for Tim Geithner to be confirmed as secretary of the treasury despite Geithner’s serial cheating on his taxes and Geithner’s utter failure in his previous job as head of the New York Fed.
Geithner’s low personal profile and Wall Street’s high comfort level with him will probably guarantee he’ll survive Wednesday’s hearing before the Senate Finance Committee. Who wants to dwell on this little guy when we finally have something big to celebrate? Besides, how important is one appointment? Newsweek thinks it’s pretty important. They just listed Geithner as the 15th most powerful person in the world.
“Tim Geithner, when I nominated him, was rightly lauded by people from both sides of the aisle, from the market, from labor, as somebody who was uniquely qualified.” Obama responded when questioned about Geithner’s taxes. “Is this an embarrassment for him? Yes. He said so himself. But it was an innocent mistake. It has been corrected. He paid the penalties.”
Geithner didn’t make one mistake. He committed multiple transgressions over the course of many years. To call them “an innocent mistake” is as insulting as deducting your kid’s expensive summer camp as a child care expense, which Geithner tried to do. Furthermore, Geithner paid the majority of his missing taxes and penalties only after he was nominated to be secretary of the treasury. His situational ethics are directly at odds with the culture of personal responsibility that Obama has set as his foremost goal.
Is it even possible at this moment in our history to find an honest “money person” who is not locked into The Fed, the NY Banks, and the corrupt government, (see Chris Dodd and Barney Frank), to watch over our economy and get us back on the solid, sound, precious metals backed monetary system that our Founding Fathers enjoined Americans to create and maintain?
Next Topic: I would like to welcome Halliburton’s subsidiary KBR back to the Monster. I have decided to shine the light on these creepy and strange visitors when they show up. I will also let you know what they are looking at if that information is available. Am I breaking internet etiquette rules? You tell me….I just think that Americans should know who is watching; the blade cuts both directions….
