Are criminals running the U.S. government? Catherine Austin Fitts, who is a former Assistant HUD Secretary, says, “Yes. . . . The American government . . . is running the central banking warfare model globally, and it depends heavily on criminal profits. If you look at the general population, the general population supports that. . . . The general population supports that as long as they can pretend they don’t have responsibility for that. If you look at the drug trafficking, the mortgage fraud, stuffing innocent people into prison, that is being implemented one county at a time in 3,100 counties. There are millions of Americans getting paid to put a pretty face to it. . . . The party with the debt growth model is over, and that means the party is over for a lot of people who are unproductive.”
Fitts goes on to say, “I agree with Winston Churchill, and he said, ‘Tell the people.’ If you tell the people what the real problems are and give them the tools . . . the wealth potential with new technologies and where you have rule of law where people believe in an economy where winners are allowed to happen. . . . Wow, it could be incredible.”
The daily bustle of activity in downtown Clinton during the day now includes imposed restrictions on that activity at night, thanks to a curfew imposed on May 30.
Long-time Clinton resident Raven Davis supports the ordinance that restricts activity between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
“I’m all for it, I’m all for it,” said Davis.
The ordinance according to town officials is designed to cut down on crime.

Police Chief Fred Dunn, who initiated the idea with the board’s approval, defended the ordinance and says if the curfew keeps one person in town from being a victim of crime, then it’s well worth it.
“As long as I’m chief of police and I have the support of these Aldermen and the Mayor, I’m going to do whatever I have to do to protect you, Ms. Flowers, Mr. Beachum, Mr. Davis, anybody,” said Dunn.
I am guessing that Clinton needs to fire these assclowns masquerading as aldermen and police chief asap.

Not anymore; Cedar Falls, Iowa City Council is following in the footsteps of the Indiana Supreme Court and law enforcement by passing an ordinance by a vote of 6-1 that requires keys for a universal lock box for commercial properties, apartments, and rental buildings. Note in the video where the city council member is leaving the Constitutionality of the measure up to a higher court in pursuit of even more government power. Want to find common ground with your fellow Americans? Here is an issue that both left and right can agree on; the government being able to warrantlessly tap phones, secretly rifle through bank accounts and safety deposit boxes, hold people indefinitely without charging them, etc., etc., etc., is NOT the American way. Does anybody actually think that Janet Napolitano, the DHS and TSA really have our best interests at heart?
House Republicans Tuesday night got a harsh introduction to the majority, as more than two dozen rank-and-file GOP lawmakers voted against reauthorizing the Patriot Act.

There was no sign that the leadership saw the setbacks coming. The Patriot Act was moved to the floor under suspension of the rules — a provision that requires two-thirds majority (290 votes) to pass and is often used for noncontroversial legislation. After holding the vote open well past the 15-minute window, it failed 277 to 148 with five Republicans and four Democrats not voting.
Republican leaders will bring the bill back to the floor under a rule, where it will almost certainly secure the 218-vote threshold.

Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) office had no comment on the trade bill or Patriot Act failure. He did not vote, which is somewhat of a tradition for the speaker. Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and McCarthy voted for the Patriot Act extension.
The Patriot Act has long been a contentious issue on Capitol Hill. It was passed shortly after Sept. 11 to give the government expanded surveillance powers, while breaking down barriers between the CIA, FBI and other intelligence agencies.
But many — ranging from liberals like Rep. Dennis Kucinich (Ohio), to libertarians like Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) — have long expressed concerns over the sweeping breadth of the legislation. Kucinich called Tuesday’s vote a “significant defeat,” adding that it will “fuel opposition” to the measure nationwide.
Indeed, many members were concerned about Patriot Act provisions that would allow the government to access medical and business records, GOP sources said.
And a handful of the no-votes were freshmen who felt completely uninformed by their leadership. Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.), who voted for the bill, said he “didn’t know anything about (the vote) until today.”

Twenty-six Republicans voted against the Patriot Act extension, but only eight were freshmen — Reps. Justin Amash (Mich.), Mike Fitzpatrick (Pa.), Chris Gibson (N.Y.), Randy Hultgren (Ill.), Raul Labrador (Idaho), Bobby Schilling (Ill.), Dave Schweikert (Ariz.) and Rob Woodall (Ga.).
Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) voted against the extension, while his wife, Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.), voted for it.
Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Reps. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Steve Israel (N.Y.) and Henry Cuellar (Texas) all voted for the bill. Committee leaders including Reps. Norm Dicks (D-Wash.), Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) and Adam Smith (D-Wash.) also voted for the bill. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Judiciary Committee Ranking Democrat John Conyers (Mich.) voted against extending the bill.
Altogether, 122 Democrats voted no, and 67 voted yes. Republican votes to back the bill numbered 210.

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)–The Federal Reserve is creating an office to implement legislation overhauling the U.S. financial regulation system.
The Fed on Thursday announced it established the Office of Financial Stability Policy and Research. J. Nellie Liang, a Fed economist, was named as its director.
The office will bring together economists, banking supervisors, and markets experts to focus on financial stability. It will coordinate Fed staff efforts to identify and analyze potential risks to the financial system and the overall economy.
“The financial stability team will play an important role in implementing the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, in our oversight of systemically important financial institutions, and in our overall surveillance of the financial markets and the economy,” Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said in a news release.
The Dodd-Frank law was passed by Congress last summer, a response to widespread calls for changes in the regulatory system after the U.S. financial crisis erupted.

The office will bring together economists, banking supervisors, markets experts, and others in the Federal Reserve who will be dedicated to supporting the Board’s financial stability responsibilities. The office will develop and coordinate staff efforts to identify and analyze potential risks to the financial system and the broader economy, including through the monitoring of asset prices, leverage, financial flows, and other market risk indicators; follow developments at key institutions; and analyze policies to promote financial stability. It will also support the supervision of large financial institutions and the Board’s participation on the Financial Stability Oversight Council.
“The Office of Financial Stability Policy and Research brings together a skilled group of people with a wide range of expertise to focus solely on financial stability,” Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said. “The financial stability team will play an important role in implementing the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, in our oversight of systemically important financial institutions, and in our overall surveillance of the financial markets and the economy. I am pleased that such a strong economist and leader as Nellie is leading this group.”
Liang joined the Board in 1986, acting most recently as a senior associate director in the Division of Research and Statistics. In that role, she has led a group of economists focused on the intersection of economics and finance, including oversight of capital markets, financial institutions, consumer finance, and financial flows. Liang was a key participant in crafting the Federal Reserve’s response to the financial crisis and helped lead the Supervisory Capital Assessment Program, or bank stress tests, which helped increase public confidence in the banking system in 2009. Liang has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame.
And just for fun, I found this for you to peruse as I am still digging for information on J. Nellie Liang. I cannot even find a picture of this person on the Fed’s site.
