Burkha Barbie

Burkha Barbie

I know Barbie was something seen as bad before as an image for girls, but in actual fact the message with Barbie for women is you can be whatever you want to be.

In a Burkha?  AYFKM?  The ERA has languished in the congress for decades, women still make less money than men, are still the biggest victim class along with children for predators of all types, and Angela Ellis (AGE 35), spoke the above quote.  I suppose this would be the difference between Brits and Americans, and/or, women with a brain in their heads.

It’s Barbie in a burkha: World-famous doll gets a makeover to go under the hammer for 50th anniversary

One of the world’s most famous children’s toys, Barbie, has been given a makeover  – wearing a burkha.

Wearing the traditional Islamic dress, the iconic doll is going undercover for a charity auction in connection with Sotheby’s for Save The Children.

More than 500 Barbies went on show yesterday at the Salone dei Cinquecento, in Florence, Italy.

Makers Mattel are backing the exhibition which is the work of Italian designer Eliana Lorena.

The auction is part of Barbie celebrations for her 50th anniversary this year. The UK’s biggest Barbie fan Angela Ellis, 35, has a collection of more than 250 dolls.

The company director of Laird Assessors from The Wirral, Cheshire, said: ‘Bring it on Burkha Barbie, I think this is a great idea.

Here is the spin quote:

‘I think this is really important for girls, wherever they are from they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them.

I am sending this over to Uppity because I cannot wait to read what she has to say about this.

Update: This is the Fatwah that Uppity is talking about in comments.

Reid cut a women’s health care amendment from his health care bill.

Here is the amendment that seedy bastard Harry Reid has cut from the Senate bill. From the post at Murphy’s:

Reid has apparently cut Senator Barbara Mikulski’s Amendment #201 OUT of the health bill. It would make basic women’s health care (like prenatal care, cancer screenings, etc.) part of all basic insurance plans:

“Amendment #201: Improving Coverage of Women’s Preventative Health Care
The amendment would require health plans to cover—with no or limited cost sharing requirements—women’s preventive care and screenings (including for pregnant women and individuals of child bearing age) provided for in guidelines supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration. This is an essential protection for women’s access to preventative health care not currently covered in the prevention section of the Affordable Health Choices Act.”

That’s right, Women. No  basic health services for YOU!

UPDATE: Video

Bad Behavior has blocked 3051 access attempts in the last 7 days.
