I know, it’s cold and manner-less, but considering the devastation that has been wrought on our economy, society, and our childrens’ future – it’s the only comfort most of us have right now. The political class in this country has to be reined in because their judgment leaves quite a bit to be desired.
(CNN) — Enough is enough! After the latest failure by BP to plug the gaping hole, it is time for President Obama to take full command of this growing national catastrophe. Immediately!
The president in his press conference this past Thursday assured the nation that he and his administration were already in charge and he has manfully taken personal responsibility — “the buck stops here,” he said, echoing Harry Truman. Well, it may be true that BP has been acting all along under the oversight of the federal government, but that supervision has been loose and ineffective.
To the world, it has been apparent that the government has been riding shotgun and BP has been at the wheel. It’s time for the White House to get in the driver’s seat and get us to safety — fast.
Meanwhile, no longer is the Exalted One seeing dead servicemen in the audience, he wants to commemorate our fallen soldiers through ‘deeds’. Time to put the pipe down, Mr. pResident.

President Obama called Saturday for Americans to honor their countrymen who have died in war, saying that Memorial Day should be marked by “doing our part for the loved ones our fallen heroes have left behind and looking after our military families.”
In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama said, “We are called to honor their ultimate sacrifice with more than words. We are called to honor them with deeds.”
“By making sure the men and women serving this country around the world have the support they need to achieve their missions and come home safely,” he said. “By making sure veterans have the care and assistance they need. In short, by serving all those who have ever worn the uniform of this country – and their families – as well as they have served us.”
Obama is spending the holiday weekend in Chicago, his home town, and will visit the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Memorial Day.
But some critics, most of them politically conservative, have complained that he is not visiting Arlington National Cemetery, the traditional focal point for Memorial Day events. He did so last year.

It appears that British Petroleum hired between 300-400 workers just for Bambi’s visit on Friday, and when the pResident took off for vacation, so did the extra workers. If this is true, and it does have the ‘looks like a duck’ paradigm working, BP just shot themselves in the head with a very large caliber weapon.
(CNN) — A Gulf Coast official accused BP of shipping workers into Grand Isle, Louisiana, for President Barack Obama’s visit to the oil-stricken area Friday and sending them away once the president left the region.
Early Friday morning, “a number of buses brought in approximately 300 to 400 workers that had been recruited all week,” Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts told CNN’s “Situation Room.”
Roberts said the workers were offered $12 an hour to come out to the scene at Grand Isle and work in what he called a “dog and pony show.”
But, when Obama departed, so did the workers, he said, adding that he’s never seen more than 20 workers at the Grand Isle cleanup site since the effort started.
It just keeps dropping. Teleprompterboy was never qualified to hold this office and now we have the perfect storm of BP’s oil spewing crisis, North Korea going sideways again, Iran getting nukes, Wall Street tweaking, BIS trying to control all the money, Europe on fire, China getting edgy about our debt, Arizona doing the feds’ job, and Joe Sestak’s statement that he was offered a job. The White House isn’t denying it, rather they are saying nothing inappropriate happened. Remember, half truths are much easier to slide by the public than full out lies. Tongue firmly in cheek, Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) on Tuesday afternoon called on reporters to demand to see the birth certificate of new Rep. Charles Djou (R-Hawaii).
As Djou (pictured here) was being sworn into office, Frank walked the hallway of the Speaker’s Lobby off the House floor calling on the media to “do your job” and review Djou’s papers.
It was a small bit of payback for the enormous amount of attention some conservatives (and the media) paid to the is-the-president-really-from-America controversy.
But, unlike the commander-in-chief, as Frank knows, being born outside the U.S. does not preclude you from becoming a member of Congress.
Capital is the body fat of banking: too much is debilitating, too little is fatal. During the financial crisis, as large banks burned through their capital reserves, governments were forced to add padding at public expense.
Now one of the most consequential decisions about new restraints on the banking industry — how much more capital banks should hold in their rainy day reserves — is being decided not on Capitol Hill but far from Washington, by a committee based in Basel, Switzerland, The New York Times’s Binyamin Appelbaum reports.
The Obama administration is pursuing an international agreement to make banks hold significantly larger reserves, which it regards as essential to increase the stability of the global financial system. It wants to complete the negotiations, which are being coordinated by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, by the end of the year.(emphasis mine)
The world’s largest banks have responded with consternation, arguing that the proposed standards would tie up too much money that otherwise could be used for lending, a loss that would curtail economic growth.
The debate between regulators and banks is about the proper balance of growth and safety, but the implications are much broader. In fixing reserve requirements, governments are deciding how much horsepower belongs under the hood of the global economy.

The first international agreement, known as Basel I, was reached in 1988. Work began almost immediately on a revision, but the standards known as Basel II were not completed until 2004. Now officials are racing to overhaul that framework in little more than a year.
“We’re going to be pushing through this year to make sure that happens. That’s an absolutely critical part of reform,” said Michael S. Barr, assistant Treasury secretary for financial institutions.

The Basel committee is still discussing how much to increase the minimum capital requirement. The amount will depend in part on the results of a study estimating the impact of the proposals on banks, scheduled for discussion at the next meeting of the G-20 in June.

Do we really want the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) issuing our global currency
In Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time (1966), Dr. Carroll Quigley revealed the key role played in global finance by the BIS behind the scenes. Dr. Quigley was Professor of History at Georgetown University, where he was President Bill Clinton’s mentor. He was also an insider, groomed by the powerful clique he called “the international bankers.” His credibility is heightened by the fact that he actually espoused their goals. He wrote:
“I know of the operations of this network because I have studied it for twenty years and was permitted for two years, in the early 1960’s, to examine its papers and secret records. I have no aversion to it or to most of its aims and have, for much of my life, been close to it and to many of its instruments. . . . [I]n general my chief difference of opinion is that it wishes to remain unknown, and I believe its role in history is significant enough to be known.”
Quigley wrote of this international banking network:
“[T]he powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences. The apex of the system was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world’s central banks which were themselves private corporations.”
The key to their success, said Quigley, was that the international bankers would control and manipulate the money system of a nation while letting it appear to be controlled by the government. The statement echoed one made in the eighteenth century by the patriarch of what would become the most powerful banking dynasty in the world. Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild famously said in 1791:
“Allow me to issue and control a nation’s currency, and I care not who makes its laws.”
Mayer’s five sons were sent to the major capitals of Europe – London, Paris, Vienna, Berlin and Naples – with the mission of establishing a banking system that would be outside government control. The economic and political systems of nations would be controlled not by citizens but by bankers, for the benefit of bankers. Eventually, a privately-owned “central bank” was established in nearly every country; and this central banking system has now gained control over the economies of the world. Central banks have the authority to print money in their respective countries, and it is from these banks that governments must borrow money to pay their debts and fund their operations. The result is a global economy in which not only industry but government itself runs on “credit” (or debt) created by a banking monopoly headed by a network of private central banks; and at the top of this network is the BIS, the “central bank of central banks” in Basel.(emphasis mine)
Behind the Curtain
For many years the BIS kept a very low profile, operating behind the scenes in an abandoned hotel. It was here that decisions were reached to devalue or defend currencies, fix the price of gold, regulate offshore banking, and raise or lower short-term interest rates. In 1977, however, the BIS gave up its anonymity in exchange for more efficient headquarters. The new building has been described as “an eighteen story-high circular skyscraper that rises above the medieval city like some misplaced nuclear reactor.” It quickly became known as the “Tower of Basel.” Today the BIS has governmental immunity, pays no taxes, and has its own private police force.4 It is, as Mayer Rothschild envisioned, above the law.
The BIS is now composed of 55 member nations, but the club that meets regularly in Basel is a much smaller group; and even within it, there is a hierarchy. In a 1983 article in Harper’s Magazine called “Ruling the World of Money,” Edward Jay Epstein wrote that where the real business gets done is in “a sort of inner club made up of the half dozen or so powerful central bankers who find themselves more or less in the same monetary boat” – those from Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Italy, Japan and England. Epstein said:
“The prime value, which also seems to demarcate the inner club from the rest of the BIS members, is the firm belief that central banks should act independently of their home governments. . . . A second and closely related belief of the inner club is that politicians should not be trusted to decide the fate of the international monetary system.”
In 1974, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision was created by the central bank Governors of the Group of Ten nations (now expanded to twenty). The BIS provides the twelve-member Secretariat for the Committee. The Committee, in turn, sets the rules for banking globally, including capital requirements and reserve controls. In a 2003 article titled “The Bank for International Settlements Calls for Global Currency,” Joan Veon wrote:
“The BIS is where all of the world’s central banks meet to analyze the global economy and determine what course of action they will take next to put more money in their pockets, since they control the amount of money in circulation and how much interest they are going to charge governments and banks for borrowing from them. . . .
“When you understand that the BIS pulls the strings of the world’s monetary system, you then understand that they have the ability to create a financial boom or bust in a country. If that country is not doing what the money lenders want, then all they have to do is sell its currency.”5
No Federal Reserve, no BIS involvement. Is it any wonder we have been screaming for the abolishen of these leeches for so long? American debt is 90.3% to GDP currently. Does anybody really think that Federal Reserve Notes are going to survive this? Are you ready for ‘global cash’?
The progressives realize that too many Americans are waking up to the concept of what “New World Order” actually means; loss of American sovereignty and an end to the American dream of prosperity. The globalists are once again changing the terminology, hoping that in those few minutes of MSM that you actually catch, the new terminology will fool you. ‘New International Order’ and ‘Global Governance’ continue to be the globalists’ agenda of a New World Order started so many decades ago by Warburg, Rockefeller, Morgan, DuPont, etc. and so on.
We must stabilize our legislative and executive branches with elected public servants that are devout followers of the Founders’ Constitution, as hard as that may be sometimes, and then extricate ourselves from the spider web of the United Nations. This organization planted at the heart of the major financial capital in the world has been directing the agenda for too many decades. It is eviction time.

Nine people who worked for a Department of Education contractor in Iowa are to be arraigned for accessing Bambi’s school loan records “while he was either a candidate for president, president-elect or president.” That’s an interesting turn of phrase covering a rather long time frame. According to the AP story, the authorities aren’t giving up any information as to why they were breaking numerous federal laws, or whether they used the information.
The convenient timing of the release of this information does make one think that the rumors that the Obamas are purposefully hinting at Barry being born in Kenya in order to lay the groundwork for an announcement appear more valid.
What you won’t be hearing any whispers about is the situation that many of us realized way back in 2007, but was and is being kept under a newsy-news blackout. The boys over at Hillbuzz have the story of an American journalist digging around the Vera Baker and Kal Penn stories. I just keep thinking about Donald Young, the murdered Trinity United choir director.
But, this time it was a US reporter who wanted information on Man’s Country in Andersonville, which is a place both Obama and Rahm Emanuel frequented in the past. Obama until 2002 or so, and Emanuel through 2008, according to what we’ve been told. We spent a good amount of time on the ground in Uptown, Boystown, Andersonville, and Hyde Park yesterday with this reporter, also telling him everything we knew about Trinity United Church of Christ and the Down-Low Club it operated under Jeremiah Wright’s supervision/matchmaking.
What prompted this sudden interest in stories we’ve been hearing since 2004, when Obama first came onto the national scene, is the fact that at least one national journalist also thinks it’s odd — as we have been repeatedly saying — that The Enquirer, The Globe, and other papers have been so wildly gung-ho about reporting on old Vera Baker affair rumors pertaining to Obama…and how all of this comes on the heels of Kal Penn’s sudden and abrupt expulsion from the White House.
Something is definitely fishy.

Embattled Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner looms large in John Heilemann’s New York magazine piece detailing the Obama administration’s increasingly strained relationship with Wall Street. And if his reporting is any indication, the president and the Treasury Secretary still have an ongoing “man-crush” on each other.
Since he took over in early 2009, Geithner has been seen by many as an embodiment of the Wall Street establishment. Heilemann notes that he’s been accused of working for Goldman Sachs — even by members of the mainstream press. (Geithner, a regulator by trade, has never worked for any Wall Street bank.)
Geithner emerged as a candidate for Treasury Secretary after former Fed chairman Paul Volcker, then 81, was ruled out and Larry Summers, the former president of Harvard, was deemed too politically divisive, Heilemann reports. After taking the helm at Treasury, Geithner quickly became Obama’s confidant through a combination of his moderate political leanings and a hesitancy to enforce sweeping, broad changes to the financial system. Here’s Heilemann:
Indeed, the president’s support for his Treasury secretary has been unwavering. (Axelrod would laugh at rumors that Geithner was about to get the boot: “Don’t these people realize they have a man-crush on each other?”) And Obama’s loyalty has been repaid with results. Geithner’s stabilization plan is now widely regarded as having worked — mainly thanks to the once-derided “stress tests” that he imposed on the banks, which showed the world that their circumstances weren’t as dire as many feared and let them raise the requisite capital to get back on their feet.
If Geithner is Obama’s trusted ear on all matters economic, it may be because Geithner seems to share an overriding belief that the financial industry — the nation’s largest banks in particular — needed only a certain amount of added regulatory scrutiny. The Obama administration’s chosen method to rescue the economy, Heilemann suggests, was to harness the expertise of a well-connected, but centrist financial mandarin like Geithner.

Harrisburg, Pa. – The state attorney general’s office has issued a subpoena threatening officials of the social networking service Twitter with arrest unless they reveal the names of two bloggers who have been critical of Attorney General Tom Corbett and his public corruption investigation.
The subpoena orders Twitter’s custodian of records to provide “any and all subscriber information” pertaining to the accounts “bfbarbie” and “CasablancaPA,” including name, address, contact information, creation date, and Internet protocol address.
The accounts have criticized Corbett’s use of grand juries, suggesting he used the investigations for political gain and to go after political opponents.
The Twitter representative was supposed to appear before the statewide investigating grand jury on May 14 to “give evidence regarding alleged violations of the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.” The court document does not specify what crime is being investigated. (emphasis mine)
The subpoena, issued May 6, further states that failure to attend may result in an arrest warrant for contempt of court. It is not clear whether Twitter has turned over the information.
Vic Walczak of the American Civil Liberties Union told Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV that the court action “raises grave concerns about abuse of the grand jury process to retaliate against political critics and opponents.” He said Americans “have a right to criticize government officials and to do so anonymously.”
Corbett, who won the Republican nomination for governor Tuesday night, told the television station that he doesn’t have any problem with people criticizing him on Twitter. He refused to discuss the nature of the subpoena, however, stating that the investigation prevents him from discussing the matter.
