Aristocrat Jay Rockefeller is feeling the itch to have the FCC shut down Fox and MSNBC because they are hindering political discourse and trust in government.  Ah, I see…this coming from the very same elitist snob that said, ‘would it have been better if we had never invented the internet?’ in regards to cyber attacks, and wishes to turn over the internet to the Executive Branch.

There are no words for a ‘public servant’ that would utter such nonsense in front of God and man in a country based on freedom of speech.

Given his thinking, we should probably only have the American version of Pravda for the corporate owned moos to consume.  How very ‘Union of Soviet Socialist Republics’.

P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C. and Twisted.

We need new catalysts for quality news, and entertainment programming. I hunger for quality news. I’m tired of the right and the left. There’s a little bug inside of me that wants to get the FCC to say to Fox and MSNBC, “Out, Off, End, Goodbye”.  It’d be a big favor to political discourse, our ability to do our work here in congress and to the American people to be able to talk and have some faith in their government and in their, more importantly, their future.

It appears that Jay believes that Fox and MSNBC (probably added for effect and balance) are interrupting political discourse and creating distrust of the government.  I think that the Beltway and New York bank insiders are starting to believe their own propaganda machine about Fox.  Sure, Fox News is center right, but I have yet to see a story on Fox that wasn’t backed up with facts.  If anything, Fox is usually a day late to the party that has already been going on here on the internet.  As for interfering with the Congress’ ability to get work done, just unplug the Capitol Switchboard and wait for us.  We haven’t gone back to sleep and the internet is a very informative place.  Think about all the stories that started here and then ended up on Fox and other news outlets; ‘Don’t Touch My Junk”, the above video, WND’s uncovering of the Revolutionary Communist Party’s new constitution, George Soros and Michael Chertoff financially involved with the full body porno scanners, etc.?

Jay, shut your treasonous mouth until such time as you can actually flip this country to a European socialist hive unit (and good luck with that).

Sen. Rockefeller: News media has surrendered to ‘forces of entertainment’

The 24-hour news cycle has forced the media to embrace hype and rumor-mongering to the detriment of the public interest, according to Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.).

Rockefeller used a Wednesday afternoon hearing on retransmission negotiations between broadcasters and cable providers to slam the media for “all but surrendering to the forces of entertainment.”

“Instead of a watchdog that is a check on the excesses of government and business, we have the endless barking of a 24-hour news cycle,” Rockefeller said in his prepared remarks. “We have journalism that is always ravenous for the next rumor, but insufficiently hungry for the facts that can nourish our democracy. As citizens, we are paying a price.”

The RedLemur wants to know if he slaps Rockefeller hard enough, will all his dead relatives feel it?
