It’s official when CNN reports that the majority of Americans believe the government is too big, and now poses a threat to our liberty. The sleeping giant is awake.
CNN Poll: Majority says government a threat to citizens’ rights
Washington (CNN) – A majority of Americans think the federal government poses a threat to rights of Americans, according to a new national poll.
Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday say they think the federal government’s become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens. Forty-four percent of those polled disagree.
The survey indicates a partisan divide on the question: only 37 percent of Democrats, 63 percent of Independents and nearly 7 in 10 Republicans say the federal government poses a threat to the rights of Americans.
According to CNN poll numbers released Sunday, Americans overwhelmingly think that the U.S. government is broken – though the public overwhelmingly holds out hope that what’s broken can be fixed.
The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll was conducted February 12-15, with 1,023 adult Americans questioned by telephone. The survey’s sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points for the overall survey.

The government is indeed broken, but it is nothing that cannot be fixed in November. When we clean house thoroughly – both sides of the aisle – and replace the tenants with true Americans we will be well on our way. That being the first step, we must then keep a watchful eye and ear out and act decisivly when our representatives stray and inhale too much of the polluted air in the Washington area. We must not make the same mistake the people of Massachusetts did with Brown. Scott Brown wasn’t investigated enough, and Massachusetts had better watch him carefully before offering him a full term.
He seems to have developed one of Obama’s traits. Tell them what they want to hear and then do as you please. Everyone was so anxious to show Obama a thing or two that they may have bought a pig in a poke and this one wasn’t even wearing lipstick. In fact, in one picture he wasn’t wearing anything. A new slant on the leader is wearing no clothes quip.
Diamond, I will be closely watcing the news from Hawaii and praying that you and yours are not in any danger.
Lee – we are all good here. We don’t live close to the beach so am planning on taking video from my lanai. Hopefully the video will come out and I will post here.
One of the things I like about blog posts is that often they spark an idea in my brain. The moment that happens, I feel as I need to comment wishing it may be useful to others. As there are so many personal blogs with different points of view, they challenge your thinking. It’s at these occasions when you have exceptional insignt other people might not have had, not to mention the blogger him/herself. I find myself coming back to to your internet site simply because you have plenty of tremendous insights and you are actually at this a very long time, that is very exciting and tells me you know your stuff. Keep sparking imagination in others!
