Today’s AYFKM? Award: Erasing Pearl Harbor

What  is with Florida?  What?  Did something happen to the drinking water that is allowing such rank stupidity to propogate?  You guys have Rush right there, and still the AYFKM? awards abound.  I have spent hours studying the elections you folks have coming up, and have found that my eyes are crossing as I try to ascertain whether or not you actually have any candidates other than Marco Rubio with some integrity left.

It’s making MY head spin, and that’s something to write home about.

How do you folks do it?

Pearl Harbor Day erased! Happy Islamic New Year

Explosive outrage as Dec. 7 remembers Muslims instead of Japan attack on U.S.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Explosive outrage is being unleashed on a popular supermarket chain after it published a 2010 calendar marking the date of Dec. 7 with the Islamic New Year, while eliminating any mention of Pearl Harbor Day, commemorating the 1941 attack on the U.S. by Japan.

Joyce Kaufman, a talk-show host on WFTL Radio in South Florida, made the “date which will live in infamy” the centerpiece of her broadcast today, expressing outrage at Publix Supermarkets for its calendar omission.

“We have guys that are fighting Islamic fundamentalists right now in Afghanistan and guarding them from ruining what little freedom they have achieved in Iraq,” said Kaufman. “And now I gotta celebrate their new year over here in my country when they’re getting on airplanes and trying to blow up planes out of the sky in Detroit? I gotta have their New Year’s Day on my calendar and not Pearl Harbor Day? We’ve lost our minds!”

Kaufman and many callers to her station called it a “slap in the face” to all those who fought for America’s freedoms over the years.

“I’m done,” she said. “I’m not walking into a Publix until there’s a formal apology. I’m not walking into a Publix until the calendars have all been pulled. I’m not walking into a Publix until they reissue a calendar and re-evaluate what they put on their calendars. It’s a free country, but I don’t have to shop there.”

Some enraged listeners called in to suggest consumers shred the calendars and mail them to the supermarket’s corporate headquarters in Lakeland, Fla.

One man claimed he spoke with two managers at two separate Publix stores, both of whom confirmed the 2009 edition of the calendar also had no mention of Pearl Harbor Day.

Go over, read the rest, and for you Floridians; boycott?

  • Sigh, once again it’s Florida, I guess I have to find another place to shop, I too will wait for an apology and a better explanation before going back.

  • Publix Supermarkets, Inc.
    ATTN Consumer Relations
    PO BOX 407
    Lakeland, Fl 33802-407

I am sure they would love to hear from all of us.

A while back when they advertised is was, Publix, where shopping is a pleasure.

  • I don’t live in Florida and had never heard of Publix, but I am so disgusted that my head is spinning along with yours, Diamond.

If ever a boycot was warrented it is now. I will write to this address given us by Kathy and will ask all my friends to do the same. If Franklin Roosevelt thought this would be a day that would live in infamy he should come back and haunt everybody who allows things like this to happen. An act that took this country to the biggest war we’ve ever had, and it is relegated to the dung hill?

I hope the true Americans who shop at these stores will rise up like the Tea Party members and say ENOUGH. Stop rewriting history. Aalong with the excising of important events in the school books these days it looks like the country I grew up in and studied about in school, no longer exists.

I’m glad I’v saved all my istory books, and those of my children. It looks like this is the only way we are going to be able read about our country with any iota of truth.

I would advise anyone to salvage all old history books from second hand stores and bookshops (I have) that they can find because one day if this trend continues that will be the only way we can show new generations of Americans what their country was all about. The older the book, the better. These cruds have been re-writing history for several years now, and there is no oversight on the education system to insure that they are presenting our schoolchildren with the truth.

T everybody in the vicinity of a Publix store BOYCOT and let them know why.

  • This is proof that Floridians have NO gray brain matter left. Rush always refers to the young as: “Young minds of mush.” Well in Florida it’s “old retired minds of mush” As my father used to say: “He’s got sh– for brains”. That’s where most liberals go to “veggitate “.
