SHOCK: Selling His Vote Has Tanked Ben Nelson’s Numbers

The bad news for Ben Nelson?  Nebraskans and the rest of America are not going to forget the prostituting of a U.S. Senator’s vote on health care.  There could be 10 years between now and Nelson’s next re-election bid and Nebraskans will not forget considering they are even more opposed to Obamacare than voters nationally.

Ben?  Maybe you should retire now…

Health Care Vote Puts Nelson 30 Points Down in Reelection Bid

The good news for Senator Ben Nelson is that he doesn’t have to face Nebraska voters until 2012.

If Governor Dave Heineman challenges Nelson for the Senate job, a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows the Republican would get 61% of the vote while Nelson would get just 30%. Nelson was reelected to a second Senate term in 2006 with 64% of the vote.

Nelson’s health care vote is clearly dragging his numbers down. Just 17% of Nebraska voters approve of the deal their senator made on Medicaid in exchange for his vote in support of the plan. Overall, 64% oppose the health care legislation, including 53% who are Strongly Opposed. In Nebraska, opposition is even stronger than it is nationally.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters in the state believe that passage of the legislation will hurt the quality of care, and 62% say it will raise costs.

Overall, 40% of Nebraska voters have a favorable opinion of Nelson while 55% have an unfavorable view. Those figures include 12% with a Very Favorable opinion while 34% hold a Very Unfavorable view.

  1. Rush rushed to hospital in Honolulu, HI, with chest pains and in severe condition. I’m not a fan but I wish him well.

  2. If he fell 30 points overnight, it would seem he may be ripe for impeachment; there is certainly cause. Now that football season is over for Nebraska, maybe the conservitives of Nebraska will do something worth while… Impeach Nelson

  3. The Bribe might be Un Constitutional, it’s about time the lawyers woke up, and started pushing back at some of this socialist legislation. It’s long over due questioning the Constitutionality of a large amount of what appears to be Un Constitutional Legislation from this congress and administration. I hope that’s all we hear about in the next year challenge after challenge to these Pinknics agenda.

  4. Well, then, as usual, the job of keeping these memories about Mr. Nelson alive, especially in his home state of Nebraska, falls to The People! Keep it up, folks!

Wishing the best to all in 2010!

  5. I REJECT and OPPOSE any and all forms of government-run health care-from the so-called “public option,” to the unconstitutional individual mandate that would force American citizens to purchase insurance or risk prison!
I also REJECT and APPOSE ANY form of Government that does not follow the Constitution of the United States.
The signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, by our Founding Fathers is the singular most important and influential event in American history, establishing the many rights and freedoms “We the People” enjoy still today.
    I REJECT and OPPOSE
    Excessive Spending and Taxation,
    ObamaCare,
    Unconstitutional Czars,
    Climate Alarm-ism/Green,
    Illegal Immigration.
President Obama is, I Believe, attacking the Heart of the US, the Constitution and Her People and must Stop.
President Obama swore to uphold the Constitution but is deliberately changing us into a big Government Controlled Socialistic type Nation.
Is what he’s doing even legal ?
I’m a Patriot and believe we don’t need to become a ” Liberal big Spending, Tax Increasing, Anti-Business, Liberty Destroying, Big Government with a Socialistic and probably Unconstitutional Agenda.
WE THE PEOPLE, not WE THE GOVERNMENT

God Bless America, Larry and Diane Larsen
