We are not surprised anymore by the media bias favoring the left’s cause and the continued vilification of everyday Americans as domestic terrorists, but this takes the cake. Still think they aren’t goading us modern-day Ghandis into action? Do not succumb! I wonder if Fox considers this “fair and balanced”, or does that only apply to their news broadcasts?
This is just more of the dog and pony show to take attention away from the two biggest roadblocks to the fascist takeoverof American health care, the lack of 60 votes for this POS bill in the Senate, and the fact that the House will never be able to compromise with the Senate on a significant health care bill unless it contains the financially devastating public option. I guess it’s okay for Mary Landrieu to keep her post because she rolled for $300 Million and only held up health care for a day or so.
A House Democrat from Connecticut said Tuesday that Sen. Joe Lieberman should be recalled from office over his opposition to the Senate health care bill.
“No individual should hold health care hostage, including Joe Lieberman, and I’ll say it flat out, I think he ought to be recalled,” Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) told POLITICO.
Connecticut has no recall law for state officials, and the Constitution does not authorize states to recall members of Congress since each house has the authority to police its own members. DeLauro acknowledged that she didn’t know “what the Connecticut process is because I never found myself in this position — but I think it is unconscionable that he would hold up health care.”
I think I speak for quite a few readers when I say that we would like every single member of the House and Senate recalled that continues to hold small businesses and average everyday Americans hostage with their un-Constitutional mandates, bills that kill jobs and increase the deficit, and the bills that will create more wealth contraction. Do we even have to wait until November 2010 to fire the fascists who “know better”?
For those of you that have just wandered by the Monster on accident, go read this report to see the true costs and the fact that 23.1 million Americans will still not be covered by healthcare. You know we can’t make this crap up.
The report that Senate Republicans are speaking about that shows that 23.1 million will still be uninsured and $180 Billion in penalties for those that remain uninsured for the 2010-2019 time span is here. It’s not hard to read, so take some time and peruse it for the rest of the goodies inside – and remember – this is much like a burial plot – pay now, use later in 2014 (maybe).
On the flipside, AARP has really dug themselves a grave to fall into with their endorsement of this bill. The are putting it all in with the White House, and who can blame them, considering the track record of a party that controls all branches of government.
“With your commitment to closing the doughnut hole in conference, consistent with the president’s pledge, and the many positive features referenced above, AARP is pleased to support your efforts to obtain cloture, and urges timely passage of this legislation by the Senate,” Rand wrote.
And here’s a paragraph that Democrats will seize on in their attempts to beat back GOP arguments that the bill would drastically cut Medicare:
This bill will strengthen Medicare by eliminating cost barriers to preventive care, reform Medicare’s payment and delivery system to promote care coordination, and reduce hospital infections and preventable readmissions. Moreover, through critical insurance market reforms and the establishment of exchanges, this bill will give the uninsured and small businesses access to quality affordable plans. The legislation also includes important provisions to strengthen home and community-based care and to assist individuals in saving to meet future long-term care needs.
Glenn covers Joe Lieberman’s position shift on the Senate health care bill, including the attacks from the left against Joe’s wife, and how the dems have to pass this bill NO MATTER WHAT in order to set up the framework for control of you through 1/6th of the economy. The Democrats and the liberal left have absolutely no shame as long as they achieve their goals.
I still contend that this is a zombie bill that just keeps coming no matter how many limbs fall off, and is all about the precedent setting, hamstringing of our Constitution.
