We’ve got to hold on to hope, and we’ve got to fight hard because Congressional action tonight just put America on a path toward an unrecognizable country.
The same government leaders that got us into the mortgage business and the car business are now getting us into the health care business.
Despite Americans’ decisive message last Tuesday that they reject the troubling path this country has been taking, Speaker Pelosi has broken her own promises of transparency to ram a health “care” bill through the House of Representatives just before midnight. Why did she push the 2,000 page bill this weekend? Was she perhaps afraid to give her peers and the constituents for whom she works the chance to actually read this monstrous bill carefully, if at all? Was she concerned that Americans might really digest the details of a bill that the Wall Street Journal has called “the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced”?
This out-of-control bureaucratic mess will be disastrous for our economy, our small businesses, and our personal liberty. It will slam businesses at a time when we are at double-digit unemployment rates – the highest we’ve seen in a quarter of a century. This massive new bureaucracy will cost us and our children money we don’t have. It will rob Americans of more of our freedom and further hamper the free market.
Make no mistake: we’re on course to have government commandeer one-sixth of our economy. The people who gave us Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac now want to run our health care. Think about that.
All of us who value the sanctity of life are grateful for the success of the pro-life majority in the House this evening in its battle against federal funding of abortion in this bill, but it’s ironic because we were promised that abortion wasn’t covered in the bill to begin with. Our healthy distrust of these government leaders made us look deeper into the bill because unfortunately we knew better than to trust what they were saying. The victory tonight to amend the bill and eliminate that federal funding for abortion was great – because abortion is not health care. Now we can only hope that Rep. Stupak’s amendment will hold in the final bill, though the Democratic leadership has already refused to promise that it won’t be scrapped later.
We had been told there were no “death panels” in the bill either. But look closely at the provision mandating bureaucratic panels that will be calling the shots regarding who will receive government health care.
Look closely at provisions addressing illegal aliens’ health care coverage too.
Those of us who love freedom and believe in open and transparent government can only be dismayed by midnight action on a Saturday. Speaker Pelosi’s promise that Americans would have 72 hours to read the final bill before the vote was just another one of the D.C. establishment’s too-common political ploys. It’s broken promises like this that turn people off to politics and leave them disillusioned about the future of their country.
But despite this late-night maneuvering, many of us were paying close attention tonight. We’ll keep paying close attention. We need to let our legislators in Washington know that they still represent us, and that the majority of Americans are not in favor of the “reform” they are pushing. After all, this is still a country “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” We will make our voices heard. It’s on to the Senate now. Our legislators can listen now, or they can hear us in 2010. It’s their choice.
I understand that Rahm Emmanuel basically said for people to pass it now, and then things would change in it later. Uh huh. What KINDS of changes?? Who would vote for a bill the contents of which were fluid??
Oh, right. I guess we all know the answer to that.
And yes, Sarah Palin’s common sense-style is sorely lacking on Capitol Hill.

To Sarah Palin, I would reply: There is a reason, much deeper than what they let us see on the surface, and we have to ask, ‘what’s in it for them?’. The jig is up, as far as the monetary manuevering goes. Good intelligence warned that in late august, or in september, a devauluation was going to occur. World PTB stepped in and told this administration to not even think about it because if they did that, it would mean ‘war’ (economic sense). But they are still planning to do it anyway. They, the politicians who are involved in this high level organized crime are waiting to be paid. They would have profitted handsomely while we would have lost everything. The arrogant Democrats, like the arrogant Republicans before them will not listen to the people. Like the arrogant Republicans, they will pay a price. In the meantime, no matter which of these arrogant corrupt parties is in power, the people of this country are ignored or insulted when they speak out.
Yes, I believe, like Governor Palin, that those that voted for this arocity will pay a price in 2010. Develop a flow chart and you will see the plan developing as you fill in each further step along the way that this administration takes. Begin with the first stimulus bill and research where that money went. Then add to the chart each additional bill that Obama and Pelosi have pushed through and continue with each additional idea that comes out of Obama’s mouth that soon lands in Pelosi’s traitorous hands. It won’t take long for you to see the pattern and then perhaps yoou, like me will get a better idea of the overall picture. And don’t forget the things that Obama has put into motion by Presidiential Order.

gawd, I get so impressed, when a fly by night shows up on these opportunity to vent and to think aloud venues, and then notice that they have a detailed assessment about who you are, what you believe, what you think, what you practice, blah blah blah,
I have concluded that those “EXPERTS” are only “experts” in their own twisted, distorted minds becasue they just make it all up, so I just ignore them and or use them for practice.
Frankly, my experience here is that DT, documents and double documents everything she publishes, and she presents another extremely valuable dimension to the the debate, more sophisticated and something other than just reaction to the public spew, which you can get anywhere.
It is helpful to have document facts when you educate yourself and help others see another viewpoint. It trains you to look under rocks and sift through the sand.

What got me off on taking a really critical look at Palin was: she blew a kiss to Hoffmann but never spent one hour to rally the votes for him, didn’t campaign for him. I first reacted awesome she supports Hoffmann like everyone else did, but then the ruthless truth hit me.

Then I wondered where are all of the others?

Maybe you should do a little more reading into everything you thought you learned in grade school…cuz there’s reality and then there’s what they teach you. Or you can just keep chowin’ down on what your government is feeding you to keep you a nice docile little sheep.
The funny thing is I think the same thing when I go read some liberal blog. I just want to tell them all what a bunch of f’ing morons they are, but then I think back to people like this guy here and realize that that sort of thing just doesn’t do anyone any good.

Freedom of speech. We all like that. On the left, where “Skull of shit” comes from, that means they get to say what ever they want, and it’s just fine…regardless of how vicious their attacks are. And it doesn’t even have to have anything to do about concern of country, or rule of law (the part about those “old dudes” who now are irrelevant), or how we need to mobilize to protect our own country, and thereby our own skins. Naw…none that old hat, mundane stuff for them. They’re too frikkin busy with meaningless, counter-productive personal attacks and witch hunts for that to have any meaning. Freedom of speech also means they can just cruise into a known conservative web site and post this silly shit like we see above, just because that’s freedom of speech. The point here is, this IS a conservative website, which means it is by conservatives, of conservatives and for conservatives, not for ass-hat liberal, snotty nosed, dysfunctional, non-patriot traitors who would just as soon see their whole country flushed away, as to stand up and fight some little things like RIGHTS and FREEDOM. God gives us these things, but if we think so little of them, they will be taken away, and the first step in making that happen is to let an out of control government continue to operate!! Maybe you’re too stupid to see what goes on in this world, but more than likely, it’s because you depend on a steady diet of pablum from places like PEE BS. Those so called reporters wouldn’t know a news story, even if it hit them between the eyes with a 2×4! That’s why the hell the last FOUR presidents, have been able to rob this country blind, by the TRILLIONS and you, Skull full of shit, don’t even know it’s happening! gawd, I get so impressed, when a fly by night shows up on these opportunity to vent and to think aloud venues, and then notice that they have a detailed assessment about who you are, what you believe, what you think, what you practice, blah blah blah,
I have concluded that those “EXPERTS” are only “experts” in their own twisted, distorted minds becasue they just make it all up, so I just ignore them and or use them for practice.
Frankly, my experience here is that DT, documents and double documents everything she publishes, and she presents another extremely valuable dimension to the the debate, more sophisticated and something other than just reaction to the public spew, which you can get anywhere.
It is helpful to have document facts when you educate yourself and help others see another viewpoint. It trains you to look under rocks and sift through the sand.
so when the flame throwers show up, giggle, and blow them off because they are not going to change the viewpoints and assessments of those who see beyond the fine print.
What got me off on taking a really critical look at Palin was: she blew a kiss to Hoffmann but never spent one hour to rally the votes for him, didn’t campaign for him. I first reacted awesome she supports Hoffmann like everyone else did, but then the ruthless truth hit me.
I was heartbroken because I was ga ga over her last year.
From my viewpoint Right now she simply does not have a leadership agenda, maybe later, but we do not have a second to wait and see.
DT took the time and went to DC, and I wondered where all the leaders were that day and subsequent days. I have been waiting for someone to show up.
I see some sprints, a few with spine and fangs out raising money and bringing in the prospective voters to support candidates around the nation and I hope they keep it up.
So we can thank Pawlenty for the fangs and Romney for being a cash cow.
I watched Bachmann actually get folks motivated to march to kill the bill and was inspired and had more hope. Then I wondered where are all of the others?
So we all need to blow off the flame throwers and use them as practice. Good training.
Bottom line, we have to follow the action because we do not have time to pull our favorite folks along.
Having been a Fiorina fan for 20 years, I cheered her desire to take out Boxer, but then I peeled back the onion and realize that we just cannot waste time on her either, and that is a heartbreaker. Anyone who even tinkers with restricting and controlling the freedom of the internet has to be axed.
So we have to go up and down the list, and decide which ones we have to push off the stage. I cannot cheer for Crist, he gave us McCain, or Kaye Bailey who is a global warming advocate.
It is hard to wake up everyday hoping to see 20 point cap headlines announcing the NEW REPUBLIC OF TEXAS and then realize that it may be later than sooner. So I have to cheer for Perry who has some spine.

Letty – thank you for all your great comments and especially this last one. I see your point on Sarah, and who knows, we may just end up having to throw her under the bus too if she starts acting like Lindsey Graham. At this point, I cannot trust any of them. I personally think Pawlenty is weak, and the rest are consumate politicians – which doesn’t say much for them. Only difference – they at least appear to be listening.
