Today’s AYFKM? Award Goes To The White House Again (And Again, And Again)

One would think that the current Mishy/Axelrod/Emanuel administration would know by now that acting with such a heavy hand is NOT going to get them any farther along the path of fascism socialism without more of the Silent Majority stepping up and adding another pair of boots on the line in the sand; but I guess not because the following story actually made it into the Washington Post.  Boy, oh boy, oh boy, is the media stuck between a rock and a  hard place that they put themselves in.

Insurers Criticize Administration ‘Gag Order’

The federal government has ordered health insurers to stop telling Medicare beneficiaries that proposed health reform legislation could hurt seniors and jeopardize their benefits.

The government might take enforcement action against insurers that have tried to mobilize opposition to the legislation by sending their enrollees “misleading and confusing” messages, a senior official of the Department of Health and Human Services said in a memo Monday.

The mailings in question urge enrollees to contact their congressional representatives and protest the legislation, the memo said.

A spokesman for America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry’s main lobbying group, issued a statement Tuesday criticizing what he described as the government’s “gag order.”

“Seniors have a right to know how the current reform proposals will affect the coverage they currently like and rely on,” AHIP spokesman Robert Zirkelbach said.

Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate’s Republican leader, denounced the HHS order as an attempt to squelch free speech.

“We cannot allow government officials to target individuals or companies because they do not like what they have to say,” McConnell said.

“Is this what we believe as a Senate — that this body should debate a trillion-dollar health care bill that affects every American while using the powerful arm of government to shut down speech?” McConnell said.

The big insurer Humana triggered the HHS crackdown with a letter to Medicare enrollees claiming that health reform proposals could hurt “millions of seniors and disabled individuals” who “could lose many of the important benefits and services that make Medicare Advantage plans so valuable.” The letter was sent in envelopes marked “important information about your Medicare Advantage plan — open today!”

HHS wrote to Humana last week instructing it to stop the mailings, and it wrote to all Medicare Advantage plans Monday, saying “such communications are potentially contrary to . . . federal law.” The government regulates communications between the health plans and their members.

Remember that definition of fascism; socialism with a veneer of capitalism.  The government doesn’t own the companies, it just controls them…

  • Medicare Advantage just happens to be the insurance my husband and I have. It is good. We pay co-pay for Specialists and the use of the OR should we need an operation. We have the VA to fall back on…but all the older democrats who put this thug in office will suffer. Many are already expressing sorrow…but would not listen to anything about obama before they voted.

  • Next stop on the Obama express- BOOK BURNING

This is perhaps one of the scariest stories to date (a direct infringement upon free speech), but since the left’s class warfare campaign has been so sucessful, a freedom of speech infringement on the “EVIL profit lusting insurance companies” isn’t that big of a deal to the average fascist American.

  • I will NEVER pick up AARP Gap insurance. They belong up obama’s ass. Traitors to the people.

  • Betty, AARP’s reps get paid an average of about $300,000.00 a year to ream it members for the best deals they can get–for the AARP reps and their benefactors. While in Washington on 912 I met the Joseph Battaglia, Director of the answer to AARP: AMAC, [Association of Mature American Citizens]”The New Senior Organization” I am hoping to have him on one of my shows in the near future but he can be reached at 516.864.2238 or toll free at 888.AMAC-006. The website is 222.AMAC.US and his email is

Everyone is sick and tired of the corruption and we are all speaking out and taking action!

  • In looking for gap insurance for my husband I found that BCBS has a better price than AARP. Since all the policies have the same coverage regardless of what insurance you buy you shop for price. At least that is true with the gap insurance policies are A B C etc. you choose which one best fits your needs and just check for price.

AARP just has more exposure and people had up to this point trusted them. If we could shop across state lines I know that the prices would go down.

While the medicare advantage has more coverage than orginal medicare it also can change from year to year as to what they cover and if you dr is on the plan so if you are on this plan you have to be sure all your drs are still participating during the open enrollment, this is also true for the medicare drug plans. One of the reason the advantage plans would not work for my husband was the drug coverage, he takes a lot and it was very difficult for us to find a drug plan that covered all of his needs, none of the advantage plans did. So if you are in decent health the advantage plans are a better deal but you never know what is done the road.

A friend of mine who sells insurance had advised us against the medicare advantage, not because of the plans as far as coverage but she knew that the dems. had this in their sights if they had control and apparently she was right.

Keyboard Jockey, what am I missing here? Connect the dots?

Glenn is helping promote Imus’s debut on Fox Business News. That is the running gag in this mornings show connect the dots how much they have in common. According to Imus, I believe it was Monday’s show? When he was talking to his guest Paul Begala, he told him plans on stomping a hole in the middle of MSNBC 🙂 This is re his time slot opposite the Network who fired him.

The treatment Glenn Beck has got is not unlike the same treatment Imus received boycotts, hassling from media matters ect…the difference Glenn Beck is on Fox News, and they don’t bow to the word police the bullies, and now Imus will be joining the network on October 5th. I am hoping that means he is going to be giving MSNBC – Obama Media Network, Hell. We already know how the on air folks have treated Glenn Beck.

I hope they don’t mess with medicare.I’m getting ready to go on it in Feb. My daughter works for BC and she wants me to go on the advantage plan. I’ll continue to go out on the streets with my small group every Sat. protesting the health “care” plan.

The audacity of the thugs is too much. Put a Chicago thug in the White House and you get thuggery.

  • Practical Madman -

It is a wonder the WH did not throw the race card at the insurance company, this is their usual tactic. This, in a nutshell, is the beginning of the total loss of freedom of speech. You are not allowed to say anything, especially the truth, if it is not approved by TPTB.

Obviously, people in America are still not waking up to the fact that this is about the Communist takeover of America. A friend of mine from Russia warned me that the terms Socialist and Progressive are just a kinder gentler way for the Democrats to say Communist.

Obama’s sucking up to all of the Communist and Muslim dictators should give everyone a clear view of the path this Communist POS is going to follow if given the chance. Obama is counting on the fact that the American people are collectively sheoples and will protest at first and then bow to the will of this new Communistic Muslim messiah without a shot being fired.

Obama has been right so far and continues to follow his radical Communist agenda without paying any heed to the verbal protests from the few patriots left in America.

Obama has used the Constitution for toilet paper and the Bible is probably next.

Are these just the ramblings of a madman or could I possibly right? I guess time will tell, but I haven’t been wrong about the current state of affairs yet.

    Keep your powder dry!

  • non-nonsense-nancy: I’m just a few years behind you.

I’m not sure just how many baby-boomers have really caught on to the fact that the “progressives” who instituted this whole Social Security/Medicare menagerie, forced all of us to pay into the system for 40+ years, caused all financial planning to be centered around it, and then promptly spent what was paid into the system on other things… are now telling us…

Sorry, but you can’t benefit from any of the money you paid in… or we are going to have to move the goal posts further down the field before you can participate… or we are going to have to ration your care and/or kill you off earlier than normal.

I think the sleeping giant has only begun to wake up.

Leaping Spark, you are right. Keyboard Jockey, thanks for the clarification.

  • It is a huge shame if Advantage Care is taken away. They cover things wonderfully and are great on preventive care. Curse the democrats!!! My daily happening.
