I was able to catch Michael Steele’s press conference today and it has prompted me to write a letter to Mr. Steele. You may wish to do so as well.
Michael Steele: The Era of Apologizing for GOP Past Mistakes is Officially Over
Office of the Chairman
Chairman Michael Steele
Republican National Committee
310 First Street
Washington, D.C. 20003
Dear Chairman Steele:
I am one of those un-affiliated voters that have steadily increased in numbers over the years due to the insanity we have seen coming out of Washington, D.C.
Today, I heard you state that the Republican Party has turned a corner and that the honeymoon for Barack Obama is over. I wish that I could believe that, but since you also stated that Republicans must focus all their energies on winning, I have to wonder if you still have not understood the message of the ever decreasing Republican voters, the ever increasing Independent voter percentages, and the Tea Parties? We are tired of liars, thieves, and selfish, petty personas that want adoration and personal perks at all costs. Politicians were never meant to be full-time government employees that could vote their own pay raises, do not have to pay taxes, and are not governed by the same laws as the average American.
This is your golden opportunity Mr. Steele to change the course of the Republican Party and put it back on the path of the Founding Fathers and the Constitution. Every time I hear a Republican ask, “What would Reagan do?”, it is all I can do not to throw something at my television, and wonder if the average Republican has ever read any American History at all? When are Republicans going to stop idolizing “presidents with handlers” and start following the true principles of the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, and the dream that American Revolutionary Patriots risked their lives for?
Are you saying that this new engaging Republican Party is going to be the party of Teddy Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Dwight Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, and the rest of the Republican presidents over the last 120 years who have done their utmost to steer this country toward progressivism, globalism, and collectivism? Is this new party going to continue to be one half of a two sided coin that sells the average American down the river for profit, power, and fame, (like the Bushes, the Clintons and the Obamas), or are you going to step up and lead the Republican Party in doing what is right and not what will win elections? If you actually plan on doing what is right by the American People, then you will win elections.
Barack Obama was elected BECAUSE he “did not appear” to be a Republican, even though we knew he was, and much worse. What does that say about your brand? I have been hearing for months from former dems that they cannot believe they are agreeing with Sean Hannity, Newt Gingrich, and Karl Rove, all the while watching Fox News for the first time in their lives. What does that say about being a Republican in 2009?
Barack Obama’s handlers are in for quite a surprise when he throws them under the bus, and mark my words, nationalizing banks, car companies, executives salaries, the census, etc., are just the beginning of the remaking of America into what will truly be the Obamanation. Are you going to do everything in your power to stop that, or are you going to continue to put forward candidates like Bobby Jindal and Lindsay Graham that are exact copies of Barack Obama but with lesser known personal appetites? Are you going to find those true patriots among us that know the difference between right and wrong, and will, at this critical juncture, not allow politics to make those decisions for them? Are you going to do something drastic because desperate situations demand it and stand up for the Constitution and Lawful Government that does not write the rules as it goes along and does not continue to break the social contract with “We The People” (i.e. The Patriot Act, TARP, ACORN, Gun Control, FISA, Thought Police, DHS Reports’ description of Domestic Terrorists, etc.)?
Do you understand that we are on the “precipice of no return” to State’s Rights as part of a Republic, and with each passing day, Barack Obama and a Democrat owned congress operating like hamsters on crack are taking away our individual rights to self-determination, life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, justice, and our ability to actually sleep at night. I personally have not gotten a good night’s sleep in years. Ronnie Reagan was a bumbling idiot with good speech writers and great advisors, Bush I was a spook running the CIA for umpteen years which makes him a complete shapeshifter with great cover stories, Bush II was elected with the Florida debacle and then proceeded to put us farther into debt than ever before with the help of a Republican congress who believed in capitalism on steriods, and Obama just perfected Bush II’s strategy with Acorn via Saul Alinsky and a Democratic Progressive Socialist controlled congress. Are these the people we really want to be looking up to as our leaders?
I’m just a little person trying to keep my family above the poverty line while every last shred of equity that any of us still possesses is slowly but surely being turned over to the government through bailouts to the NY Banks, Car Companies, Private Equity Firms, Insurance Companies, the United Nations, the IMF, the World Bank, Palestine, Individual States through the stimulus, the new credit card bill, and new taxes to start funding a $3.7 Trillion Obamalinsky Budget aimed at completely draining the personal coffers and the will-to-fight from every law abiding, hard-working American who still thinks this America could be the America of days gone by.
Americans are the “People of Hope”, or Obama would not have been elected. Are you going to throw a bone of hope and then finally destroy all hope when that person turns out to be just as bad as Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Nixon, so on and so forth, or are you going to really stand up and fight for the American Public with real candidates for real people?
This is your moment Mr. Steele; please think long and hard, and if you decide to do the right thing, then say what you mean and mean what you say.
