This is going to seem cold, and my thoughts do go out to the Kellerman family, but after Donald Young, Lt. Quarles Harris, and Bill Gwatney, how many of you would like to join me in calling B*llshit on this being a suicide? David Kellerman was the CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER and his peer, CEO David Moffit just RESIGNED. I know, I know…have to be able to prove it in a court of law….just sayin’, but in the words of Kathy Markulis, “How stupid does he think we are?” (See update at bottom of post.)
Acting Freddie Mac CFO found dead
VIENNA, Va. — David Kellermann, acting chief financial officer of Freddie Mac, was found dead in his Hunter Mill Estates home Wednesday morning in what police say was an apparent suicide.Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Mary Anne Jennings tells WTOP police responded to the Kellermann home after family members dialed 911 at 4:48 a.m.
Sources tell WTOP Kellermann hanged himself.
I am guessing that Kellermann did not own a gun.
“We were called from inside the house to come investigate an apparent suicide,” Jennings says.
“We’re not going to give you details of the condition of the body, except to say it was an apparent suicide.”
A medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
Police on the scene tell WTOP Kellermann’s body was found on the home’s lower level.

Police investigating death of Freddie Mac official
Kellermann, a University of Michigan graduate who went to business school at George Washington University, worked for Freddie Mac for the past 16 years and was named acting chief financial officer last September when the government seized control of the company and ousted top executives. Freddie Mac lost more than $50 billion last year, and the government has pumped in $45 billion to keep the company afloat.
Kellermann’s death is the latest in a string of blows to Freddie Mac, which owns or guarantees about 13 million mortgages and us the No. 2 mortgage finance company after sibling Fannie Mae. The company has been criticized for financing risky mortgage loans that fueled the real estate bubble, and its first government appointed CEO, David Moffett, resigned last month after six months on the job.
Federal prosecutors in Virginia have been investigating Freddie Mac’s business practices. But two U.S. law enforcement officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the Freddie Mac investigation, said Kellermann was neither a target nor a subject of the investigation and had not been under law enforcement scrutiny.(emphasis mine)
Donald Young:
Choir conductor found murdered
CHICAGO (WLS) — A man who worked as a choir conductor and school teacher was found Sunday shot to death. The victim is 47-year-old Donald Young.
Young’s death has been ruled a homicide. His body was discovered Sunday morning inside his South Side home at 2320 E. 69th St.
Donald Young was the fourth of eight siblings. He was, according to those who loved him, the type of person who didn’t take life for granted. He lived every day to the fullest. So whether it was in the South Side classroom where he taught, or at church conducting the choir every Sunday, Young made an impression on those who met him.
“He was one of those success stories, the average person would look at and say he doesn’t have a chance,” said Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Trinity United Church of Christ.
And yet, before his death , Donald Young succeeded mightily. He was a choir conductor at Trinity United Church of Christ for many years. Amateur video shot just last week shows him doing what for him wasn’t a profession but a calling.
Lt. Quarles Harris:
Key Witness In Passport Fraud Case Fatally Shot
A key witness in a federal probe into passport information stolen from the State Department was fatally shot in front of a District church, the Metropolitan Police Department said yesterday.
Lt. Quarles Harris Jr., 24, who had been cooperating with a federal investigators, was found late Thursday night slumped dead inside a car, in front of the Judah House Praise Baptist Church in Northeast, said Cmdr. Michael Anzallo, head of the department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
Cmdr. Anzallo said a police officer was patrolling the neighborhood when gunshots were heard, then Lt. Harris was found dead inside the vehicle, which investigators would describe only as a blue car.
Emergency medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
City police said they do not know whether his death was a direct result of his cooperation with federal investigators.
“We don’t have any information right now that connects his murder to that case,” Cmdr. Anzallo said.
Police say a “shot spotter” device helped an officer locate Lt. Harris.
A State Department spokeswoman yesterday declined to comment, saying the investigation into the passport fraud is ongoing.
The Washington Times reported April 5 that contractors for the State Department had improperly accessed passport information for presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain, which resulted in a series of firings that reached into the agency’s top ranks.
One agency employee, who was not identified in documents filed in U.S. District Court, was implicated in a credit-card fraud scheme after Lt. Harris told federal authorities he obtained “passport information from a co-conspirator who works for the U.S. Department of State.”
Bill Gwatney:
Intruder kills Democratic superdelegate in Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A man barged into the Arkansas Democratic headquarters yesterday and fatally shot the state party chairman before speeding off in his pickup. Police shot and killed the suspect after a 30-mile chase.
He was identified as Timothy Dale Johnson, 50, of Searcy, about 50 miles northeast of Little Rock.
Moments after the shooting, John- son pointed a handgun at a worker at the nearby Arkansas Baptist headquarters. An official there said he told the worker, “I lost my job.”
Party chairman Bill Gwatney, 48, died four hours after the shooting. The former state senator had been planning to attend the Democratic National Convention as a superdelegate. He had backed Hillary Rodham Clinton but endorsed Barack Obama after she dropped out of the race.
One more interesting thought; can anybody remember whole families being killed during the recessions of the recent past due to economic hard times?
UPDATE:
Updated: Fairfax County Police Say Medical Examiner Will Determine Exact Cause of Kellerman’s Death
Although Caldwell told AHN that police have not yet released the identity of the person who called them, she did confirm to AHN that there were other people present in the house at the time of the death and that there was a gun and a gunshot wound.
So which was it; hanging, or shooting himself 7 times in the heart while his hands were tied behind his back?
