GOP Donors Demand Resignation Of Chairman

The Tea Party Patriots’ movement continues to gain steam, and it’s ‘Fire Congress’ effect is starting to level the playing field for the 2010 and 2012 elections.

Top GOP donors are calling for the resignation of the party’s state chairman because they do not believe the GOP will be successful with the current leadership.

Florida GOP leader faces revolt by top fundraisers

TALLAHASSEE — A dozen of Florida’s top Republican fundraisers called for the resignation of their state party chairman in a letter late Tuesday, saying without his removal Republicans had a “diminished” chance for success in a crucial election next year.

“There must be a change in leadership to successfully execute the strategic plan for victory in 2010 election cycle for Republicans,” according to the letter.

Florida Republican Chairman Jim Greer has resisted several resignation calls this year from party activists. “He intends to serve the remainder of his term,” Greer’s spokeswoman said Wednesday.

But the letter from the fundraisers, who have combined to personally donate more than $2.1 million to the state party in the past decade, is the biggest hurdle yet for Greer, Palm Beach County Republican Chairman Sid Dinerstein said. “This is, by far, the most important,” he said.

  2. If the RINOs fail to wake up and respond by either becoming true Republicans or being honest and switching to the dems, then it’s past time to go with a third party. Constitution Party anyone? And don’t give me that foolishness about third parties not succeeding. Does anyone even remember there was such a party as the Whigs? The Republican party was a third party at one time. History often repeats itself…..
