Dear Sen Reid and the Senate,

In yuur self-serving way, you and other Democrats effectively gave comfort to the other side: the enemy, if you like.
You gave them the ammunition by showing how you would limit debate. You gave 'them' the ammo by showing such hubris
in pronouncing this deal complete by Christmas day. Why the necessity to ahve this complete by Christmas day? So you may
vainly proclaim you helped the American people in 2010?

Was that your reationale for Afganistan? Iraq? Allowing concessions in return for votes/
Still chums with joesph Stali...i mean Lieberman? Lieberman is a pure example of sleaze.
Let me guess, you respect him as a colleague right? is that like giving respect to the other drug dealer down the street?
Or is it really that Senate Democrats are too timid to take on the 'interests' they claimed held the Bush White House hostage?
or maybe, its more like, 'with people I know, the rules dont apply." and since you dont know me, the voter, how could you even empathize with me?

Watch me pull the lever of any party but the DEMOCRATIC pary from now on. You abused my vote as an American. I will take like liberties by casting all of you DEMS out next year. TA TA.

And I thought back room wheeling and dealing was a thing of the past. How naive of me. At least they used to try to hide it. These jay birds flaunt it.

I just sent a 30 pieces of silver message to Nelson. With the great deals my own senators Leahy and Sanders are cutting my healthcare should be fantabulous, and I'll need it to be in order to work hard enough to pay all the tax increases they'll be sending my way. Vermont already sits near the top of the highest tax rate so what's a little more burden for a good cause. 2010 and 2012 can't come around soon enough.

We've been in a decade-long cooling trend. Sunspot activity has been absent for longer than usual but at last, there's a sunspot. While photographing the new sunspot, a backyard astronomer captured this:
