The political situation in my state is identical to yours, and in my county it is even worse.The only reason that Michael Steele and Bob Erlich were able to win the Gov and Lt Gov spots is that the black vote crossed over to the Republican party to vote for Steele. That coupled with the fact that Kathleen Kennedy Townsend irritated so many people by assuming that the spot was hers by reason of her name. Her attitude did not go over too well with the people. I have been active in local politics for many years and was amazed by the number of people who felt the way I did but didn't have the backbone to stand up for their convictions. It's a small world and they were afraid of their jobs and their family's jobs. (and safety) I am convinced that a flip over of congress is exactly what we need.
