Diamond... some of the things I found:

It looks like MyGoodDeed.org was started as a 501c3 back in 2003 and appears to have been started as a way to honor 9/11 victims, first responders, etc. through community service. One of key sponsors, KBW, had like 60 employees who were lost in the 9/11 attack. Seems like this started out as a way to remember some people that were actually affected by the events of 9/11.

Then, it looks like certain politicians jumped on the bandwagon back then, most notably Charles Schumer and Peter King of NY, among others.

Fast forward to March 2009. Congress passes Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, or GIVE Act, (H.R. 1388). Under the GIVE Act, the anniversary of 9/11 would
be observed in ways similar to Martin Luther King Day. People would voluntarily engage in remembrance through personal and organized service activities and reflection, but 9/11 would not become a federal holiday. Senator Charles Schumer (NY) and Rep. Peter King (NY-3), both of whom have long supported establishing 9/11 as a national day of service, worked with GIVE Act sponsors U.S. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (NY-04) and U.S. Rep. George
Miller (CA-07), Chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, to develop the 9/11 language for the bill.

I went to Rubenstein's site at http://www.rubenstein.com to look at their current client list. They apparently do a great deal of PR work for many NY events and organizations, such as Time Square New Year's Ball Drop, Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, New York Yankees, many New York fine arts organizations and their media clients reads like a who's who of movie and TV companies... including Sony, who is a sponsor of MyGoodDeed.org.

I could not find a direct tie (yet) between the key principals of these different community volunteer organizations and Rubenstein. But, it could be Rubenstein is just looking at any and all commentary on anything related to 9/11, as the main attack occurred in New York City.

Personally, I think the interesting question in all this is the following...
How many Americans knew Congress included this way of "remembrance" in the GIVE Act? How many Americans are really aware of the GIVE Act itself? I knew about GIVE, but I have to admit I was unaware they included this provision in it.

I think this is all part of Obama's and the liberal Dems narrative to return us to a 9/10 posture, including not using the term "War on Terrorism" and the recent DOJ action against the CIA. Obama is always saying he wants to move forward and not look backwards. But look at his actions... this "rebranding" (to use a marketing/PR term) of 9/11, the DOJ action against the CIA, the "rebranding" of the War on Terrorism, having the FBI do what the CIA normally would do... is all an attempt to reset the country back to a 9/10 mindset.

Always pay attention to his actions, not his words.
