Bob Basso: A Little Common Sense On Its Way Back To The White House?

Mar 28, 2009 by

UPDATE: 4/11/09 New Video From Thomas Paine:

********

The 21st century Thomas Paine, Bob Basso, has been summoned to the White House by the Usurper-In-Charge, “to discuss the disturbing nature of the videos.”  Common sense and a free republic have become “disturbing”?  You have to give Bambi credit for seeing someone that can steamroll his fascist conversion of our country when he sees it.  Bob Basso may not be the “leader” that Americans are looking for right now, but he definitely is the voice.

I have a feeling that silencing Dr. Bob Basso is going to be a little harder to do than making a deal with the Republican Party to get into the WH.

From World Net Daily:

YouTube Star Summoned To The White House

The man who created two phenomenally successful “We The People” YouTube videos urging Americans to stand up against Congress and reclaim their republic now – or perhaps lose it forever – reportedly has been summoned to the White House by President Obama to discuss the subject matter of the short films.

Bob Basso, who posts videos under the name funbobbasso on YouTube, has created videos in which he portrays Thomas Paine, author of the “Common Sense” pamphlet that made the case for independence during the American Revolution.

Basso, whose website offers his services as a motivational speaker, uses the YouTube presentations to condemn “non-representing representatives” and warns, “Only when they feel the almighty wrath of ‘We The People’ marching in the streets from California to New York shouting ‘We’re mad as hell and we want our country back’ will they get the message they work for you.”

He was scheduled this week to appear on the “Jerry Doyle Show” when he told the radio host that Obama had personally invited him to meet in the White House “to discuss the disturbing nature of the videos.”

According to a spokesman for Doyle’s show, at the time when Basso was supposed to be calling in for the show, he was unavailable. Basso reached the show several hours later, explaining he had been flooded by media calls and literally was unable to call out.

The result, the spokesman said, was that Basso promised to provide Doyle with the first exclusive interview after he meets with Obama, provided the invitation still stands after the was leaked to the press.

The spokesman said information about the meeting has not been made public, and show producers are waiting to see what develops. A WND message left for Basso was not immediately returned.

The Doyle show reaches about 3 million listeners each week, according to Talkers Magazine, and is the fastest growing show in Talk Radio Enterprises’ history with more than 240 stations

In his second video, which has been seen more than 1.1 million times, Basso challenges people to let Congress know their displeasure by sending tea bags.

He criticizes Congress for approving the “largest spending bill in history without reading it” and criticizes American citizens, because “you did nothing.”

He raises the issue of billions of dollars for benefits for illegal aliens, the exportation of U.S. jobs overseas and others.

“If your self-serving Congress were a business they’d all be in jail now,” he said.

“Wake up, America. While you were playing with the toys of your consumer wealth, you lost much more than your bloated economy of living beyond your means. You lost your representative democracy. Your servants have become your masters. Taxation without representation is tyranny,” he said.

Ladies and Gentlemen, some common sense for your consideration.

A special thank you to a reader, Kathy, for dropping the link and stating “Maybe he can explain the Constitution to the White House.” I am thinking that we ALL are going to have to do that.

    Jewish NGO supports Palestinian cause

A Canadian Jewish action group makes history in staging the first-ever championing of the Palestinian cause on the part of a Jewish NGO.

Earlier in the month, the Independent Jewish Voices (IJV) joined the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel, the Occupied Palestine and Golan Heights, Advocacy Initiative (OPGAI) reported on Wednesday.

The BDS takes after the international surge that helped end the South African Apartheid. It champions the Palestinian rights and the cessation of the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories.

“The time has come for people around the world to rise to the challenge … as we did for South Africa,” said Fabienne Presentey, Steering Committee member of IJV. “All voices that can be raised against this injustice must be.”

The body voted to push Israel until it “meets its obligation to recognize the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and complies with the precepts of international law, including the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.”

In an apparent sarcastic reference to the recent Israeli accession to the restricted existence of a Palestinian state, the organization said it opposed “attempts by the Israeli government to impose its own solutions on the Palestinians.”

On Sunday, the Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu recapitulated Tel Aviv’s tough pre-conditions for a Middle East peace accord insisting that any future Palestinian state be denied a military and “recognize Israel as the state of the Jewish people.”

The IJV also urged the Canadian leadership to “1) cease its one-sided and uncritical support for Israel and 2) insist that Israel abide by international law.”

To the indignation of the United Nation’s Human Rights Council, Ottawa portrayed the recent Israeli bloodshed of more than 1,400 Gazan Palestinians as ‘self-defense’ and voted against a war crimes probe into the massacres.

“It is often asked why, in the Human Rights Council, Canada is the first and often the only country to ask for a vote and vote against issues that address the violations of human rights of the Palestinian people,” Pakistan’s Deputy Head of Mission to the UN, Tehmina Janjua, said after the vote.

$400. millions from bush to overthrow the regime in Teheran. Mossad and the zionists have nothing to do with this I am sure. Don’t worry Obama will not change course. He is just a better comedian than W.

Two problems with Mr. Basso’s rant, abolishing the electoral college and mandatory national service. It was the people who elected the guy in the White house now, and “The People” were never supposed to be allowed to elect the President.

    Read the Constitution.

I think the idea of forced national service should be repugnant to any free American. Americans don;’t have to earn our rights, they are unalienable and granted by our Creator.

    Read the Constitution.

“We The People” get the government “We” deserve.

“We the people have the right to alter or abolish any form of government that puts our national security in jeapordy” and our government has done so.

  8. Ronald Niebergall

Hey Charlie, We the people don’t elect the president, it’s the electoral vote that does.

what ever happened to Dr. Basso, was he silenced by the White House??? I haven’t heard anything much about him.

I love Bob Basso, but you HAVE to stop believing the nonsense forwarded to you in emails. In almost every forwarded email there is one nugget of truth and 99% bullshit on top of it.

Perhaps look at Bob Basso’s other videos on his YouTube channel, Funbobbasso:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxDwBYjL3Fc&feature=related

Here he clearly states that he was never contacted by the White House or Obama, and never invited to the White house.

Also, he elaborates in this audio interview:

    http://patriotsheartnetwork.org/audio/20090405BassoScoop.mp3

Here’s a portion of what he says in the interview:

“This whole idea of the president of the United States summoning me to the White House is false. Let me repeat that again and again. It’s false. It did not happen. What happened was weeks ago, a month ago, I got a call from a blogger that said, ‘Is there any truth to the fact that President Obama has seen your video and is very upset about it and wants to talk to you?‘ And I said, ‘As far as I know, I have not received any comment from the White House. No one has contacted me.’”

As far as I’m concerned, Bob Basso (Profundo) has nailed it! He has clearly and accurately articulated just about everything I’ve been feeling since before Obama was elected. We do need to take back our country, and our leaders SHOULD be obligated to pay for their own insurance and their 401K plans, and not be kept on full salary after one term of office – who among us gets kept on full salary after leaving the office? NOBODY. So I think Mr. Basso is right on the money here (no pun intended) and if Obama has not invited him to the White House to discuss things, he SHOULD have. Obama, in my opinion, is putting our country in dire straits and how are we ever going to recover if we don’t limit his bail-outs and subsidizing societal deadbeats who are a drain on our society? And what about this health-care plan, kicking our seniors to the curb because their time of service is over? That sucks!

  12. Janis

Mr. Bassos – you are a sick man. However you can private pay for your insurance. You and your supporters are not “we the people”. The bad news is this is 2009 not the age of Thomas Jefferson. There was no health insurance then. Go try to barter a burlap bag of corn for your treatment. You play a good part, but that is precisely what you are doing – playing. Stay out of what my family needs. We want the government option and my rights (unfortunately) are equal to yours. While you windbags are blowing down the front door the insurance industry is sneaking in the back and changing policies, premiums, benefits and co-pays. So while you huff and puff at the front door, I hope as Rush suggests, you are bending over and holding your ankles, it will hurt less!

    • Gene

While I sympathize w/ your comment Janis, you are not entitled to someone else’s livelihood. You wouldn’t demand that you should be able to commandeer and use somebody’s car…or house. Nor should you think that you can use somebody’s income to support yourself. Only you should do that.

  13. and my rights (unfortunately) are equal to yours.

You got that much right. So because you want the government option, that means I have to have it too? Right back at ya:

You play a good part, but that is precisely what you are doing – playing. Stay out of what my family needs.

To The guy that said You and your supporters are not “we the people”!
Dude we are all “We the People” And all of us have a say in what this Administration, or any other administration is trying to spoon feed us. We are not all Koolaid drinkers, and willing to just accept this government intrusion into almost every aspect of our lives.
Between the Stimulus bills that have passed (Including the one that Bush pushed through) the Bank and Auto take overs, The push for cap and trade, and now this one sided health care bill. Government will control our lives not represent us as they should be doing. And yes we will be paying for it all under the guise that they are giving it to us. Just another play on words for a people that have come to bow to government rather than control their government.

  15. William

    @Janis:

I don’t need the GOV telling me what my family needs. You are a follower, sheep are always led to the slaughter, that is the way it’s been since the beginning of time! You go ahead and follow. I am a leader of man not a follower! Your the type the belong in a country where you are spoon fed because you have no mind of your own!

Mr Bassos has it 100% correct! I want my country back, our government works for me! I pay their salary, just like every working American does. For you who sit back and do nothing you are nothing!

  16. chris

i think this guy is finally going to wake america up i would lobe it if he did one of his tea partys in daytona beach. as a serive member in the armed force i try to keep my mouth shut about politics but this guy makes the most sence i heard coming out of anybody mouth in along time. agin mr basso i would love it if you come to dayona beach. also i am only 19 yrs old. but the one this i remeber my father teaching me is that i havent earnd shit i have worked for.

  17. Susan

I can’t believe all the negative comments about We The People video. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for people like him who have the boldness to stand up for all of us. He couldn’t have said it better!! People get your heads out of the sand. The FREEDOM my daddy fought for must be something you all take for granted. REMEMBER-YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’VE GOT UNTIL IT’S GONE! Our FREEDOM is going down the drain very fast and so is this country if we don’t do what Bob Basso is saying. Send in your TEA BAGS!

  18. THIRD PARTY

THE RIGHT IS TRYING TO STEAL THE TEA BAG MOVEMENT.
