Diamond…you forgot to add the earmarks for the company that makes wooden arrows. I know, it really should be wooden nickels it would make more “sense”.
This whole thing is unbelievable! And today the latest talking point was that the PUMAS have “moved on”.
That’s the story [including FOX] today.
I am sick that McCain voted for it….I sure hope the house shoots it down…they had better.

I am hoping (against my better knowledge of the House) that they will vote against it too; but I’m thinking that they are just going to do the ‘ol Patriot Act dance again. Yes, WE ARE SO SCREWED.

DiamondTiger– I have never been more concerned for the well being of my country. Our elected officials have made a catastrophic mistake in passing the Senate version of the Wall Street bailout bill (and that’s what it is, semantics not withstanding). The fundamental problem with the bill (besides the pork and the size of it) is the fact that it transfers the money from the U.S. Treasury into an open line of credit for Sec Paulson to do as he sees fit. Too much power in the hands of one person. Paulson now has more power than any president in history and he is accountable to no one. I HOPE THE HOUSE REPUBLICANS CAN SAVE THE DAY AGAIN AND VOTE THIS BILL DOWN. We are so screwed.
